The Official NASCAR Talk Thread

I know you can't really go by the Winston Cup format to prove who should be champion because some people would race differently if under that format. Not always being Checkers or Wreckers, such as not trying some ridiculous "Hail Mary" type move (not talking about the Chastain move) just because you won a race earlier in the season and it doesn't matter if you get a 30th, even though in a way it does due to the playoff points given to the Top 10 finishers of the regular season.
But, the last 4 years seem they would have produced some down to the final race points battles without manufactured drama.

I always liked how Kevin Harvick raced. In my mind, he was more of an old school style guy trying to get the best finish possible every week, that is seen by his 4 titles under this format.

NASCAR today announced that its three national series – the NASCAR Cup Series, NASCAR Xfinity Series and NASCAR CRAFTSMAN Truck Series – will adjust the practice and qualifying (P&Q) procedures for the 2025 season. The updated P&Q schedule will include more practice time, consistency in procedure across all three series and a return to simplified starting lineup rules. With the exception of the superspeedway events, each qualifying session will be one round, with each vehicle’s starting position determined solely by its qualifying results.
