Something tells me that I'll be hanging out in this thread for the most part on Saturday. People in the FF and RF are getting so hyped that I fear that if we lose on Saturday (even if it's only by 1 point), then there will be a meltdown of epic proportions.

I agree. The expectations for most are way too high. The let down will be huge if we lose. I really don't know who will win at this point but I'm leaning towards us. I never post much during the games so I always read after the fact. But this thread is much more grounded than most

This really is a huge swing game for us. If we win this game our confidence will be sky high and our players will believe they can beat anybody.
If we lose, it's going to really really tough for the players and especially the fans to shake off those "here we go again" vibes.
I think it's a really big game for our season. It's the difference between enormous national exposure, which would legitimize everything Butch has done with this program heading into SEC play, and potentially tumbling out of the top 25 altogether.
If we lose all the haters will collectively let out a huge sigh of relief and scurry to the message boards to scream out "I told you so!"
Luckily we're about to take Oklahoma out behind the shed and have it our way.
Here's an example of what I was talking about in the RF:
Sounds like this guy is trying to set it up so that he can talk big either way; if we win, then he called it and he can keep talking junk but if we lose, he also called it and will start the "Jones may not be the guy" talk.
Since I don't think we're going to be in play for the playoffs nor do I think we win the East this year, I don't think losing this game kills a good season by any stretch. Especially if OU ends up being as good as some think. If we lose at UF in a few weeks, then we can talk about the feelings of "here we go again".
Did people not learn anything from previous games?
