No. The inability to close out games is to the point of absurdity. A lucky kick against a team we shouldn't need luck to beat does not erase 3 years.

Then they are stupid if they blame it on the coach. Under his overall guidance, he put the team in a position to win the game. Some dumbass sets them back a few yards and makes the field goal that much harder, it gets missed, then everyone lines up to throw the coach under the bus. Refusing to hold players accountable is crazy. As a former player, I WANTED accountability.

I do agree that it should not have come down on the shoulders of the kicker. Should have been closed out before.

He had a timeout and coaches are responsible for subs. Clearly it was confusion all around. No reason for the penalty.

Players don't get paid millions to make decisions.

And I'm pretty sure the coaches are the dumbasses that were responsible for setting the kick back 5 yards.

You've used some pretty strong language against me, but I will admit that I must have missed something when it came to the substitution. I really thought it was a player screwing up. I still would have loved to see the kick a little bit left of where it went :) :peace2:

To be fair Hurd and Dobbs both made great runs that should have been stopped short of a first on the drive before that. Its not like the coaching staff was making great calls on that drive, we just had great effort by 2 guys. Butch made some great calls the first half that got us up for sure, then it appeared like his butt puckered a little late. He was the dumbass that set us back BTW, all he had to do was use his last timeout. JMO

Jerry, I mentioned in a post after that one that I missed what the call was for. I don't know if I had just walked back in the room and wondered what the heck happened or if I was just looking down at my computer, but I simply didn't know it when I posted the one you quoted. That's ok, you can hang me if you like but I did admit that mistaken view on the game. I really thought some a-hole committed a stupid penalty, something Butch teaches players NOT to do. Then he goes and does it when it really counts. I'll leave it at that. :peace2:

Didn't see this earlier, but no worries, we're still buddies. I just hate when I'm in a forum where I actually care whether or not people like my posts and I say something stupid like I did. I'm gonna brave the waters of the FF next time, where who the hell cares what anyone thinks is the general mentality. Then, when I make a mistake, some guy with his four remaining teeth will come back and say "You're stupid, we lost because those refs SCREWED us." I'll just smile and move on..

We all say dumb stuff, but we all get along and don't mean anything bad just conversation. We are all pretty level headed...except when me and Professor X have at it, which hasn't happened in awhile.

The guys here are 9999999999x better than anything you'll find anywhere else. Unless Huff is whining about how such and such is the best 4 in the league because he rebounds 16% better than anyone else at his position it's a great place.

And yes. Arky game is tough to call. I like UT at home by 5.

A loss to Arky would not surprise me. They just gave A&M a hell of a game. Our guys have to be emotionally drained.

Not a good set up IMO.
