OK, chance against Bammer or not? Pretty sure of some answers I would get in the FF, but curious to know you guys' thoughts on the subject. Personally, I think the chances are very, very dim.

Before the beginning of the year, I thought that this game would be the only likely loss. I'll stand with that, but I do think we will keep it closer than the 14.5 point spread Vegas favors Bama.

Bama: 35
Vols: 31

Bama is a 14.5 point favorite. I think UT covers.

But Bama still wins. I think this is the first time since 09 that we can be competitive for 4 quarters with them.

This is my gut feeling.

The ones in the FF saying we have a "good chance" of beating Alabama are either smoking crack or they are simply really hoping. I don't see how anyone can say we have a good chance.

A chance? Sure, there's always a chance. I'm not seeing it this year because Alabama is cruising. I'm also not buying that our offense is suddenly lights out just because we opened it up against Georgia.

We have a chance. Do I expect a win? No.

With that being said, I do think this is our best chance to be competitive with Bama since the 09 game. If all goes according to plan, next year's team will be talented enough and hopefully deep enough to go toe to toe with Bama, especially at home.

There isn't just people in the FF who think that we have a good chance of winning. There's also people who expect us to beat Alabama, and if we don't, then Butch should be on the hot seat.

I can't tell which poster is more naive and usually the most wrong about virtually everything: Dobbs 4 Heisman or Nationdom.

True. Dobbs4Heisman is so wishy-washy he probably wins on that alone. A few weeks ago he was damning Jones and trashing Dobbs, now he's saying he'll end up a 1st or 2nd round NFL draft pick. After the next bad game Dobbs has, he'll probably go back to calling for Dobbs to change positions. I hate to see what he'll do if UT gets upset by UK or Mizzou or another team they shouldn't lose to.

Nationdom is pretty consistently out there. Plus as dumb as his posts and positions can be, at least he sticks to them.

Dobbs 4 Heisman was proclaiming back in August that this was the year, that UT will be back in the national title conversation, and that every year from here on out will be that way.

Well......he was wrong about this season.
