The Official NBA Forum Vols Football Thread

Guaranteed loss to Alabama.

Possible losses are Ga Tech, Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, Kentucky, Vandy, and LSU so 6+ losses is possible.

Until UK is storming the field and it's done, I will never predict a win over UT. Pretty sure the mental blocks for the program against UT and UF are eternal at this point.

That's fine. We aren't going 6-6 so the conversation is pointless, but if you think he survives going 3-6 against actual football teams you're insane.

Not really; this is Tennessee. Historically we have proven our admin will put with things longer than the fanbase will.

6-6 if they let Butch finish the year. 7-5 if he's fired somewhere in the middle of the season.

With the recruiting class he has coming in -- he is safe through next season -- just like Warlick, she would have been canned, if not for the incoming recruiting class

I don't think so. Currie has no reason to be loyal to Butch. He's also seen what happens if you make coaching decisions based on keeping one recruiting class (Dooley). Anything less than 8-4 and Butch will be fired. Anything over 8-4 and I think he'll leave on his own.

In other words, you think he's gone after this season, regardless of outcome.

Are the vols better than last year?

Are Georgia and Florida worse than last year?

I'm not talking record though. I'm curious about as a team.

Defense will be better. Special Teams about the same. Offense will be dictated by the OL. Dormady and Guarantano are talented and if the OL is improved, there may not be a dropoff. This is an 8-4 team.

Going into this season i think Georgia probably has the best QB in the league and 2 of the 3 best RBs in the league. I think they'll be really tough.

I think they return a ton of starters as well. I know they have a history of falling short but they are set to make a run. Closest team to beating Bama in the SECC game, maybe they pull it off this year.
