I believe it. Kid is a monster. I also don't think Maymon is as tall as listed but he is a bull too. Maymon would make a fine DE.

Maymon is a beast.

I'd say 6'6/260.

I'd be surprised if he was a legit 6'7.

If stoked comes in 6'10" 270 next year, and his body loses the fat and becomes cut(just like maymon did) dude is gonna be scary.

The only one I really have a problem with is Taylor being on the all-defensive team. Other than that, you really can't argue with it too much.... Maybe Boyton being on first team as well.

Taylor is one that stuck out to me too...I've never noticed that he played any sort of spectacular defense. Maybe the stats are there, but he hasn't seemed to be a huge presence on the defensive side of the ball in the games I've watched.

That's my thing, the stats may be there, but he never had the wow factor going for me. I wasn't worried about him shutting down our guys.

How does Kenny Boyton get over Jeronne Maymon again?

Yeah, he has scoring ability and is a good shooter, but he doesn't provide anything else offensively and doesn't play good defense.

He plays for a ranked team...regardless of whether or not we swept them, and they are really suspect, it's pretty obvious that the first team is loaded with players from the "top 3" teams in the conference.

Edit: I didn't give enough credit. Moultrie and Bost are legit players. I would take our big boys instead of Moultrie, but to each his/her own.

Here is my problem with that thinking.

Let's say if UT was picked to finished first, and UK had been picked 11th. Say we went undefeated and UK had finished 2nd, would you still think the same way?

hypothecal situations are like lying to your brain....yours might cause damage

In my view, part of coaching is recruiting. And Cal was one hell of a three from being undefeated. I think Martin has gotten a ton of props from the national media. No complaints here.

I agree. And I can't believe that was the lone loss on their record.

Impressive.

Taylor is a solid defender. His assignment was Golden. Tatum guarded Taylor, but Stallings put Taylor on Golden. He almost always guards the other team's best offensive player on the wing. That takes some away from your offensive game.

His biggest problem is that he tends to disappear in games especially on the offensive end. Stallings was PO'd at him after the game. He called him out indirectly and you could tell he wasn't happy with his play. I suspect we'll get a different Taylor if we face them again like the one from our first game unfortunately. If he's on, Candy is a tough out. He's a lot like Hopson. All the talent in the world, but sometimes you question his drive.

Boyton over Maymon?

Really?
He's averaging 16.8 points per game while shooting 43.4% from three... Don't forget that great assist-to-turnover ratio for a shooting guard. Boynton was a lock for first-team; he had a great season. Maymon had a great season as well, but Boynton deserved it. They're also completely different positions, so if Maymon had replaced somebody, it wouldn't have been Boynton.

Are you mixing Boynton up with Walker? Boynton is a fantastic on-ball defender.

Taylor is also a phenomenal on-ball defender. You're not supposed to get a "wow" factor from wing defenders. If you don't notice them getting burned, then they're pretty good.

No, he's not a good defender. I've watched ten Florida games this year and his defense isn't that good.

He's a good defender against most college guards. He's too small to guard a lot of shooting guards, but he's a fundamentally sound defender with great quickness.

I'll agree to disagree, but here is the snippet from NBAdraftexpress.

Defensively, most of what we said about Boynton in our previous reports remains true. He's a hard worker whose fundamentals have improved to match his quickness, but his lack of size and length limit his upside at the next level. Whether his scoring ability compensates for questions about his ability to defend the shooting guard position at the next level remains to be seen.

Taylor belongs there ... He is the best defensive Small Forward in the SEC !!!
