The Official SC @ #1 Tennessee Series Thread (Thurs. May 16 6:30PM EST SECNET+) (Fri. May 17 6:30PM EST SECNET+) (Sat. May 18 1PM EST SECNET+)

Hmm.. UK def exceeded expectations. Gotta give them credit. We’ve gotta couple of tournaments coming for them to prove their alloy.
Depends on how you look at it. Do we want to base our expectations on what the media and coaches think about the teams in the conference before a pitch is even thrown? The coaches thought Florida would win the East, thought Georgia would finish 6th in the East, thought LSU would be a top 4 team, and thought Mississippi State wouldn’t even make the SECT. Tennessee was predicted to finish 4th by those same people and ended up the 1 seed. So we exceeded expectations also but we had A LOT more adversity to overcome. And we didn’t cancel 2 midweek games like a bunch of cowards.

Doubt you’ll get a recommendation for gin around here. Bourbon and Whiskey 🥃? Possibly Top shelf Scotch, Irish whiskeys? Now yer talkin’
I'm all for learning what the best bourbons, whiskeys and in your words, possible the best Scotch, and Irish whiskeys.
Why? To be an awesome host to a wide array of people and I want to tap into this forum's opinion on those and compare it to what my parents currently have.

@chuckiepoo

Are you doing okay? Do you have enough power/electricity going to your house or are you running your own generator?

I don't think the rest of the USA realized how devestating the flooding in the Houston area is/was until Friday morning. I only found out the extent of it when I went to Reuters and the associated press on Friday afternoon. Prior to that, it wasn't mentioned on the wall street journal, the BBC and barely mentioned (but not covered very well on the national broadcast networks and they only gave it 30 seconds. smh

THIS morning there were many stories, pictures, facts etc, but there's a wide variance in how many people were impacted and how deep that impact was and is. Also, the time frame of when people will have power is still a wide range. There still isn't an agreed to top wind speed at different locations.

ALL that could still be in flux because no knows yet.

I’m good. Power was not interrupted to my area. I am in a high priority area, on a circuit that supplies a water distribution system.

I appreciate the enthusiasm but I’m not the right person to ask. My wife likes Black and Tans, Guinness sometimes makes the fridge, Yee Haw Dunkel makes an appearance now and again.

On rare occasions, I’ll hit a brewery and drink something I’ve never heard of, but yeah…I ain’t the right guy.
Okay and thank you for the reply which was informative. All I know is that I know very to little about the topic and that I/we know a few hundred people. In a section "what did you have for dinner" and/or what are you drinking had things I'd never seen before and I've seen quite a lot because of my parents bar and just living my life, but things talked about and depicted here are somethings I've never heard of before.

I'll make some time to look into some of the bottles I've seen in those sections and comments without pictures. My impression was that there are some collectors on Volnation and when talked about, other people knew what was being referenced. My dad is difficult to buy for in general, but I know he likes to try new things too and I thought it would make a good gift for him for Father's day or his B-day this Fall.

Thanks again.

Pappy Van Winkle is a thing, @txbo and @NorCalVol67 might be better at this one.. However, time is on your side.

We all know Wake Forest will be the matchup. They’ve been beating that drum all season long.

Do you know how dumb it would be to have your ace starter pitch on the road against a team that has literally saw him pitch hundreds of times?

Part of his dominance this season is because he was pitching against hundreds of guys who had never seen him before.

Some day, or night, I'd like you guys to rank the liquors because I think some of them or maybe most of them are significantly better than the Maker's Mark my dad drinks and I'd like to surprise him with some next level bourbon.

Same for gin.

As an example, I don't like " a gin and tonic" but I very much like a Tanqueray and tonic. Then my neighbor had a gin that was imo significantly better Tanqueray.

Okay, so THAT'S your homework :)
Bourbon. Pappy Van Winkle. I don’t do Scotch so can’t help you there.
