I wish they would just announce single elimination. I guess that’s kinda unfair for Arky to tell them they’re eliminated after the fact, but I don’t see how they finish this thing with double elimination. I’m losing interest in this tournament and just want to make sure we’re rested and ready for next weekend and beyond.

yup. They still have no idea what their plan is. Having teams play double headers is where is this headed and that’s ridiculous with post season in a week.

Yep! If I’m the coach of Tennessee or A&M, I’m coasting tomorrow. I’m treating the game like it’s BP and my pitchers like they’re throwing in the pen.
I’m getting a little work in and going home and getting ready to host regionals.
Initially I wanted the Vols to win this tournament, now I don’t care. It’s not worth the risks.
Am I wrong in thinking that way?

Logically, I don’t think you’re wrong, but these kids are going to want to compete I think, regardless of the weather.

Would be fun to lay it on the table and win the tournament too, but if someone gets injured in this custer, that would be very annoying

In the past Slive has done interviews during this tournament. I’ve not watched every minute of every game but have seen 75% of them and have yet to see Sankey interviewed. The SECN should put his ass on the spot and make him talk.

Sankey is waiting for the viewers on Sun. They will spend 2 innings letting him drone on and on about himself during the Championship Game. It will be BRUTAL and will disrupt the game but mark my words, it will unfortunately happen.

I don’t see anyway that coach TV okays double headers for us going forward. And it’s not worth putting our team at risk. One potential pulled hammy or whatever injury would not be worth the risk. I said it Monday, and as much as I hate it, I still think that going to single elimination is the only way to finish the tournament on time with regionals looming.

Depends on who and what, but yeah.

From a fan prospective, at this point, just get back to Knoxville injury free. Unless they go to seven inning single elimination games, you’re going to be putting a lot of playing time on the boys just to satisfy the SEC. Not worth it (unless we win)

Unless they can do a quick pivot to single-elimination, which seems punitive to Arkansas after the fact, Tennessee absolutely should pack things up and head home to Knoxville.

Yeah I guess it’s too simple of a solution for the SEC. They found a solution whenever a tornado forced the 2008 SEC Basketball Tournament to change locations but it’s too much of a ask for baseball it seems.
