The Official SEC Tournament Discussion Thread (Excluding Tennessee Games)

This thing is such a mess. The SEC clearly had no plan in place. It was easy to see that the A&M/UF game wasn’t happening tonight, but they played the first Round 2 game because “why not” and now you can’t just retroactively eliminate Arkansas and go to single elimination. Double headers are just going to exhaust teams a week before the regional, which is not what a conference should be accomplishing before the NCAA’s. Just all around a really dumb week.

I posted in some thread here after the Auburn game that the SEC should probably postpone until Friday. They’re just winging it and it shows. You can’t start this double elimination round with this high of a chance of not being able to complete it. If they do decide to go single elimination and royally screw Arkansas, Bama gets a big advantage by resting until Saturday.

I bet Arkansas wouldn’t mind.
(A) No team with ncaa bid wanted to be here anyway
(B) DVH is sick
(C) escaping Alabama is always a good thing

I wish they would just announce single elimination. I guess that’s kinda unfair for Arky to tell them they’re eliminated after the fact, but I don’t see how they finish this thing with double elimination. I’m losing interest in this tournament and just want to make sure we’re rested and ready for next weekend and beyond.
Baseball is a rhythm and timing sport. Too much time off is a bigger concern to me. I hope they just switch to single elimination and our guys get some games this weekend.

They at least need a second field available for this situation to catch up.

9:30 AM CST and still listening to the Bama, hate Tennessee, homers on SECN. No game underway. My weather underground radar show some heavy storms, rain, and wind headed to Hoover for next couple hours after a short 30 minute to hour break in the rain. Gotta get something done around the house. Check back in later. Go Vols! Want to motivate UT baseball...force them to watch SECN this morning.

So....we are in a long rain delay and SECN puts on the Bama win over Arkansas they have been gushing over all morning. In all fairness, I enjoyed the 2022 UT Football Preview yesterday so, will give this a pass. Looks like the weather in Hoover will clear this afternoon and maybe get three games in. I would be good with 7 vs 9 inning games to catch up. Just be fair about it and make sure everbody plays a 7 inning game. Only thing is they winner will have one of those "*" beside their victory. Go Vols! I am getting tired of waiting on our Vols to play. Aren't you?

According to my weather information, the cold front/last of the heavy rain, is approaching Tuscaloosa. Hopefully the rain will be over by about 1-2 CST and we can play some ball. Texas A&M/Florida at 1-2-ish would put the Vols and Vandy on 4-5-ish CST. Sounds good to me! Need to get in some hitting practice and extra pre-game stretching to prepare the body for baseball. I am sure the motivation is not a problem against Vandy.

Thanks for sharing, seems like only up-to-date info is coming from Twitter. I refuse to get back on that platform, so I appreciate you bringing it here!
You are smart staying off that platform, just today on Twitter I’ve already read that South Carolina, Arkansas and Ole Miss have all hired Vitello.
