The Official SEC Tournament Discussion Thread (Excluding Tennessee Games)

waste of time for participation trophies .... take the top 8 teams and the hell with the rest. 9 teams still make the NCAA from the SEC.

What's more exhausting pitching if all teams get mid game rain delays....

It seems odd that Georgia wouldn’t pitch Cannon today. I know “Hoover doesn’t matter” but win a few games and they are back in the hosting picture. Instead, they’re staring down the barrel of another loss which would make them 2-5 in their last 7 SEC games to end the year.

Good call.

Does this help LSU?
GBO!!

Slightly, but not too much. They could be forced into the dreaded play a game, wait eight hours, then play a second game. Those are killers on the men's softball circuit.

As long as first baseman, Bozo, is back at the car wash by Monday, LSU is good.

Typical vandie whiney-butts.

You know, we joked so many times about “are the Vols going to make Hoover?” that now we’ve jinxed it and no one is going to get to play Hoover

How / Why?
The weather forecast here never really changed even when it was pretty far out. They’ve been calling for a ton of rain since last week. Even as the tournament got closer and weather forecast being more likely to be accurate, no announcements were made and no additional info was provided. And it doesn’t seem like they thought through any contingency plans either.

I figured we could use this thread to discuss each days matchups, follow along with the days action (excluding Tennessee, because we do the official game threads for Tennessee)
Day 1
10:30 AM EST #6 UGA vs #11 Alabama

2:00 PM EST #7 Florida vs #10 South Carolina

5:30 PM EST #8 Vandy vs #9 Ole Miss

9:00PM EST #5 Auburn vs #12 Kentucky

Is the whole tournament a sellout?

Well, that is disappointing.

One time, many decades ago, I called off a night of men's league softball based on a mid-afternoon forecast.

It didn't rain a drop that evening. :(

Haven't yet made that mistake again.
