The Official Tennessee @ #3 Kansas Game Thread, 4:00 PM ET, ESPN

Cal has never won at TBA with Barnes as coach. Surely they are a blue blood.
Yeah of course they are... just has a different feel to it because we are in the same conference and we play them 2 times a year. I guess I should say it hurts to come so close every time but not pull any of them off against the other blue bloods besides Kentucky.

The foul on the pick on Fulkerson should go in some kind of manual on absolutely blown calls. Instead of Azabuike fouling out with 3 minutes to go, he makes 2 free throws. The entire outcome would have been different with the proper call there. Azabuike is the only person who remotely committed a foul on that play. College should have a challenge like the NBA.
Not only that one but there was a play where he practically tackled a guy and no call. If he sits another 2 minutes due to foul trouble it's a different game. I don't like making excuses or blaming refs but they missed some very obvious calls today. Proud of the guys for going into that arena and playign to win.

Vescovi, Bowden, Fulkey and Pons keep playing like this, we will make the tourney, for sure.
Look at the schedule. Glad to see those guys playing better, but no matter how well they play, I don’t think there are enough wins based on who we play to get to anything other than the NIT. This just isn’t a tourney team.

Still a lot of games to play. This team is very young and very inexperienced. Im sticking with them. A lot of upside for the future. Some really good players in the pipeline. Just need some growing and better play from freshmen to think tourney.

Save it.

JJJ had been, largely, very good this second half of the season. He had a clunker today, but so have a lot of players. Not all 5 stars are Anthony Davis.
Barnes guys always tend to get better as they get older. He makes three stars into five stars, so JJJ will be fine.

We lost to a better team but played well. Bowden and Pons had strong performances, as did Fulkerson. We had one point from the bench which hurt us tremendously. Still a good game and our team will continue to improve.

Appears we are finally developing an identity offensively and getting Fulkerson and Pons more involved in half court offense rather than chucking bad three pointers. It was a very good effort but needed everyone to play well to beat Kansas in their house. Getting better which is needed the rest of the schedule. I’m not one to complain about the officials but they let Azubuike get away with a ton. It was obvious.

We need 10 conferences wins. That’s doable, but we need a split of the road games at MSU or Bama and then beat two of Arkansas, UK, UF, and Auburn at home.

Will someone please tell Bowden that we appreciate his leadership and clutch plays in big games against high caliber opponents, but we’re gonna need him to play with the same effort in the not so highly classified games

People need to realize Tennessee played 6 freshmen in one of the toughest places to play in the country. Some still playing their first 6 or 7 games in their career.
