I think this team will be fine once AJ Russell gets back fully stretched out. When he can go 6-7 innings and then hand it off to Snead things will go much smoother on Sundays

I’m more frustrated with the decision not to pull the pitcher.
One would think that, after what happened against ND in the playoffs year before last, he would have learned some sort of a lesson.
I’m nowhere near as accomplished as CTV; however, I lettered in the sport in high school, played it most of my life, and now coach it. If you have options, use them. Road series in the SEC are critical and should be treated as such.

Question for those who might know the rule. I that situation, can Elander call a time to talk to his batter? I'm just curious if that's possible, and if maybe he should have done so to tell his hitter to layoff until guy threw an actual strike? Robin was thinking bust the game open with one swing, but we only needed one run. Bad situational baseball on his part. Hopefully a learning experience.

Villineuve should never be batting there. Another coaching blunder. Dude is swinging for a HR when all we need is a single. This is where Bargo's injury stings. But should have had another batter in there. This game was winnable. Last night was on the players. Today was on the coaches. Yes, I'm being critical. We have a stacked lineup but are lacking a closer, make similar coaching blunders, and are susceptible to the small ball, off speed teams.

The same guy that had a grand slam last weekend, HR last night, and an RBI double earlier in the game? Yes, he had a bad AB but that is absolute nonsense

Tough loss for the Vols today especially after how we looked Friday. No way Snead should have faced another batter after the big play by Dylan. Our hitters looked very anxious today. We are trying to mash every at bat it seems. Bama pitched us up a lot today and we took the bait and would swing. It’s a long season, hopefully we will rebound next weekend and win a series. We let this one get away from us this weekend. I trust Tony will have us ready! Go Vols!

It’s not quite that easy, but I agree that you have to take one just to see.

It is that easy if you’re disciplined and locked in to what to expect. DD swung at 1 that bad and then laid off and worked himself a walk. RV was determined to mash no matter what.

Hard to win on the road ?

It is extremely hard. That said, the game and series was VERY winnable. Disappointing to lose the game and series. I guarantee, we won’t start 5-10 this year. So we don’t have to “over-pucker” over this one.

But it sure does suck having to placate ourselves pointing out how many other #1 seeds lost in their conference tourney and that no other road team won a series. I don’t give a $hit about “everybody else”. I just want my Vols to win. Every, fricking game!

Oh, well. This crappy weekend is almost over.
