I thought that, but two guys were briefly on 3B at the same time, and that ump signaled safe. I don’t understand the difference between the pair at 3B and the pair at 2B in that sequence.
The pair on 3B weren’t tagged. Burke was out bc he was ruled out of the baseline. Him being on 2nd when Ensley was there was irrelevant.

Wasn’t a baserunning blooper my lord
Yes it is because Moore initially running could’ve been out at home and then you have runners on 1st and 3rd or 1st and 2nd with 2 outs. If that didn’t turn into the pickle that it did there’s no way Ensley winds up on 2nd. The end result turned out to be the same as if he stayed put and Ensley was thrown out at 1st but that’s not a guarantee.

They didn’t tag either one of them. There was no force so they had to tag one. They tagged Ensley at 2nd.

Burke was called out for running out of the base path to avoid the tag.

I’m at the game, down the LF line, and I pulled up the game on my phone after that play and saw one replay. I did not think he left the baseline, but that does make sense with how the ump signaled.

The whole point was that it does turn into the pickle which gives Ensley time to get to 2nd!!! That’s why Burke waits until the exact second Moore touched the bag and then he starts going back to 2nd

The ump signaled an out well before the end of the play. One of them had already been called out before they were together on 2B at the end.

That doesn’t excuse taking off in the first place on a ball hit right in front of you. If that’s one throw back to 3rd and he’s tagged out Ensley doesn’t get to 2nd. You’re not getting 180 feet in 2 throws. You say it’s ok because the pickle unfolded the way it did.

Two nights in a row we keep the Negas in the waiting lobby. LOVE IT
I was in the lobby squeezing lemons and limes to make my bride a fresh whisky sour, but my boys were yelling out the ballroom doors to keep me posted.

Uh, dang it, I should have kept squeezing lemons. Arky he. @greasemachine I will stay on the couch. (Or in the kitchen, as the case may be.)

2nd and 3rd with one out is almost always go on contact unless it’s back to the pitcher. Tennessee always does that under Tony. The pickle unfolded the way it did because moore and burke didn’t exactly what they are supposed to after the pickle began. It’s practiced

How was that running out of an inning? Either way it was going to be 2nd and 3rd with 2 outs
With the 3rd baseman playing even with the bag, a ball hit directly to the 3rd baseman and the runner at 3rd goes home? Doesn't make sense. Make the third baseman throw across the diamond and see what happens. It is just not smart.

I didn’t see Burke leave the baseline at all so that’s an awful call. Arkansas clearly didn’t hear or see it or they wouldn’t have let Ensley get to 2nd as easily as they did.
