Idk the numbers but I would venture to say we have some of the worst defensive numbers in the country. At least for Power 5 programs. We just cannot get out of our own way.

Vols are 58th of 295 in fielding percentage. Can’t find the errors numbers

Guess you should ask Tony V why he has the bullpen working.

Because he’s at 90 pitches not because he’s being hit. The first inning put him behind the 8 ball throwing 28 pitches. That’s 2 innings worth of work on average with where a pitcher needs to stay to go deep.

From the stat line it seems like his best outing this year, and we’re down 2 runs.

This outing reminds me of Ohtani last year and Degromme at various points with the Mets

Official scoring in baseball has to change. Ark LFer misjudges fly ball and it’s a double. Yet screaming drive to deep left is an obvious error. Both should be no brainer errors.
