Because he’s at 90 pitches not because he’s being hit. The first inning put him behind the 8 ball throwing 28 pitches. That’s 2 innings worth of work on average with where a pitcher needs to stay to go deep.

All I said was get the bullpen working. I’m sure Tony and Frank wanted Doe to go the inning but the laser shot to left changed that quick. Bullpen would not have gotten to work if that had just been a pop up to left and an out. Geez people - wake up.

Official scoring in baseball has to change. Ark LFer misjudges fly ball and it’s a double. Yet screaming drive to deep left is an obvious error. Both should be no brainer errors.

Both should be, agreed. Definitely no way Dickey’s can’t be when a ball hits the glove like that. His misjudgment of the ball made that tougher than it needed to be.

If that ball was caught it doesn’t change a thing. He’s still at 90+ pitches in 4+ innings. One rope didnt change their mindset when he’s been untouchable the rest of the game.
