The Official Tennessee at #8 UConn game thread 2pm CBS

Nobody went to console Houshmandzadeh after the Ravens lost last week, but they're a strong team nonetheless

Tatum can look so solid(at least from a hustle and defensive mode) at times and can even score some remarkably timely shots, but, as a whole, he throws trash. Good thing he can jump. To me, that makes him a solid "off the bench player at best. So, what should the line-up be? I am just sickened by the inconsistency and lack of a solid combo group. This is killing me. It all goes back to(and i HATE to say this) coaching. There is no longer the drive....the "bigger than self" mentality. It is selfish, lazy, self centered, lazy, selfish and lazy with a whole lot of selfish. No inspired play unless they think that scouts are there for THEM. No spirit for the pride of the U. Just selfish and lazy....tossed with a tart viniagrtte of stupid. I am sick of them. Their inconsistenecy points to selfish....no team pride with a side of poached stupid. Oh, and if I forgot to mention it, they play selfish, without pride, and stupid as a topping on the vol entree

Exactly. Calipari will hand our asses to us with a repeat performance like this on the boards.

I'll give some of the credit for that to UConn. I just haven't seen anything that convinces me that any SEC team is any better than we were today. The stats can't fall the way they did today, obviously, but UT had every chance to win that game and fumbled it away. I thought it was a good effort aside from the mistakes that coincided with UConn finally putting the Vols away.

when we defensive rebound like that, with our 3 and 4 looking to sneak out on the break, we will get our asses kicked by nearly everyone. UConn's best offense was offensive boards and whoever Hopson was sloughing off of.

Hey we were in the game with an elite team on the road with a few minutes to go. I have a feeling as bad as we played from the last 5 minutes of second half on and were still not throttled is a good sign. If we played like today and at Rupp I say we are in a game similar to Georgia. We will be in it at the end as we know UCONN is a way better team than Kentucky.

This teams inability to simply catch a ball pisses me off. It cost us badly today.

Yeah the things that most folks look at is how quick or how athletic or how a shooter a player is. A person can have all those things but if he has NO hands it won't matter. Larry Bird could shoot the rock, but another quality that made him great was his hands. He could not jump a lick but could catch the most awkward passes and get rebounds over guys who could outleap him by probably 3 feet.
