No. He was gone the second he was benched and let everyone know it. His agent was telling tony what days he was going to pitch according to McKee. He bought a purple glove for the CWS because he’d told everyone he was transferring to TCU. He wanted out bad.

He didn’t get benched - He got moved to the pen and became the best closer in college last year. He wasn’t getting it done as a starting pitching last year.

Never denied any of that. But typically if you lose your job as a starter, that’s called getting benched. He never wanted to be a closer. Tony made the right choice, but chase was always going to leave as soon as that choice was made.
