Why do I have to be smoking anything. Have you watched college basketball all year and how wide open it is. Tennessee one of the youngest team in country with elite class coming in and another 4 star guard sitting out.

Jeckal and Hyde team, need a man among men, give me the ball , I'll get you that basket type personality. Someone with ice water in his veins to step up and score. Last year we had Grant, Schofield, even Bone at times. Vescobi seems to be trying, but he needs someone else to help.

We will improve but we won't be a top 10 team. We will make the tourney but we won't be elite.

You hit nail on head ...another guard sitting out ...we will not be a top.ten team unless we got guys who manhandle people inside like we have been manhandled...we have NOBODY on our future roster with those capabilities .. Barnes has dropped the ball with big men .

Not impressed with Springer. Small bodied boy. Looked like Bowden in the first half today against the top high school team in the country on ESPN the other day. Don’t understand the one and done talk there. Don‘t think he will be the savior.

Small bodied boy ? I was 6'3 and 165 pounds, my junior year at Fulton High School. That's a small bodied boy, 6'4, 200 pounds is not. Like u said that was against the #1 team in the country, trust me, Springer is one and done and u will be ecstatic with how he plays at UT. At least wait until he plays a game at UT before u say u don't see it. Well, maybe I should take my own advice and let him play a college game before I guarantee an one and done. Still think I'm right and u are wrong, but hell, neither one of us knows jack sh!t, right now. Although, I di think Springer has a college ready body, now, as a senior in high school

Is Turner still sitting on the bench with the team? Right after he continued meeting the refs and the opposing captains with Bowden at midcourt before tip off. He wasn't out there the last game that I noticed that meeting. He needs to be out there. It's still his team. Maybe he's had the illness that's going around Knoxville or was recovering from surgery. I'd like to see him out there encouraging his brothers.

He wasn't a game captain a home game or 2 ago. He was right after he quit playing. He was on the court during warmups and he stood with the team during the National Anthem. Maybe he just had to miss the recent game that I noticed his absence for some reason or another. Maybe he's not in school and had to stop being with the team after classes started back, but I'm pretty sure I've seen him more recently than 3 weeks ago.

It was good to see UP scoring quite a bit when MS had a couple of good sized players of their own. Maybe he'll give TN an advantage if any if the upcoming opponents don't have similar size. Even if they do have size, they won't be as skilled as the MS guy.

It's going to take some time for true freshmen to adjust both on and off the court. It would be great if we didn't have to completely depend on them for success. This season, while not over yet, is looking like it's pretty much a bust as far as making the NCAAT so if I'm Barnes, I swallow hard and start making myself get kids like Pember and Gaines some valuable minutes. It would be all about development for next year from this point on.

Been a UT fan since '79 (approx). I am a Barnes supporter but with the offseason money grab and a 16 win season ahead he has earned any criticism thrown his way this year. I believe better days are ahead, however.

Offseason money grab? LOL. UCLA offered came to him and offered more. Barnes was nailed for giving his own money to his assistants since his athletic department was dropping the ball with their support. We're lucky that he didn't walk away from UT.

JADEN SPRINGER SG - 6'5" - 195 lbs

Projection: First Round
Comparison: Malik Beasley, Denver Nuggets

"Tremendous strength and build for a combo guard. Has average-to-good length. A power guard who is effective in traffic and plays through contact. Scores at all three levels. Watch that game and tell me what u think against elite completion. I came away concerned after watching. Trust your eyes not recruiting fluff. I am much more impressed with Johnson.

I am encouraged by the play of UP yesterday and also saw some good play from Gaines. Need them to get much better by SECT. With some luck, it is possible to make the finals of that tourney.
