The Official Tennessee @ Oklahoma Game Thread, 8:00pm ET, ABC

For those that keep calling for the OC's head, keep in mind, he is limited by his qb.

Worley is a gutsy young man. His heart showed out tonight and anybody questioning that is an idiot. That said, he is not the style of qb suited for running this offense. For the read-option to truly be effective, the qb has to be a threat to keep the ball and run. That does not describe Worley. Other teams know, 99% of the time, the rb is going to get the ball, so they can sell out on stuffing the rb and not have to worry about the qb making them pay. Worley is fine as it pertains to the passing part of this style of offense. He is no where near fine where it pertains to the running part of this style of play. To see this offense work, we need a qb with wheels.

Not calling for anyone's head but Worley is working with what he has. A good offensive line and Worley is a completely different type of QB.

Dooley's 2012 team should have won eight games by just getting off the bus. The stars from that team went pro and the recruiting class that resulted was putrid by SEC standards so we were back in another rebuild. I think we are in the right track. Let it play out.

Would of could of should of.

I want to be sold on the coaching staff, but haven't been able to quite reach that destination as of yet.

We didn't get "blown out." We missed some humongous opportunities, caught some bad breaks, and had some questionable play calling at times. We were three or four big plays from being in the game until the very end.

hey..in 2 years...Tennessee will be good......for the 8th year in a row.

If you can't see the difference in this team from the teams we have had the last 6 years, then you are truly clueless. How anyone cannot understand that a team with mostly freshmen and sophomores, even though they are talented, are going to have problems with a team of talented mostly seniors and juniors is beyond me. Also, the most problematic area is the O-line, which is mostly Dooley's fault. But lets get another group of new coaches so we can wait longer for the team to turn around, that should suit you. You are really a Florida fan, right?

Yeah if Croom caught the other pass, it could have been 27-24. Also, Ut kicked a fg close to the goal line. It was a much closer game at in the 4th than the final score shows.

If's and but's don't win games. It's what you say when you lose. I'm sick of if' and but's. From now on if it isn't a win, then I'm calling it like I see it.
Tonight, we found ways to beat ourselves. Our offensive coaches did a poor job tonight. Stoops and company had their team ready to play and had a superior game plan on both sides of the ball.
I hate to say it but I don't see this offensive system winning consistently against top tier competition week in and week out.
It's just my opinion.
This team has enough talent to win, but I'm not sold on offensive system.

Three plays were huge and the lack of holding calls against OU were a big factor.

The missed fumble call.
The INT where Croom was out fought for the ball on a beautiful pass by worley.
The poor play call/decision by Worley on the other INT in the end zone returned for a TD.

In order to have a chance against a team like OK you have to reverse those three plays.

Those three plays go our way and we lose by three.

they have to play here next year  and these young freshmen will remember this game .. Oklahoma is not that good . UT almost played them straight up and we had a team full of freshmen . they had a offence and defense full of arrogant seniors plus a lot of help from the big 12 officiating ... Our guys could not catch the ball when they had someone hanging on their arm .:peace2:

I didn't see it. I just saw yet another loss.

Pretty sure I heard them say it was SEC refs.

So have we officially stopped saying, "2015 is the year" and moved it to "2016 is the year" now? It's hard for me to keep up with these things.

…but, it was a better game than Oregon last year. There has been clear improvement in certain areas (though along with some of the same problems cropping up again and again). Is that enough for you guys? Do you think baby steps will ever get our program out of the hole it's in?

The steps that this team has taken since CBJ took over are a little larger than baby steps. Our D made their O look mediocre tonight and this was the fourth rank team in Nation. Worley played his butt off but we need a QB that can run CBJ system, then we will be fine.
