The Official Tennessee @ Oklahoma Game Thread, 8:00pm ET, ABC

For once we didn't get our fours blown out and look outmatched. Teams of the last few years would have quit. These guys didn't quit. Regardless of the outcome and could've been closer...I'm proud to be a Vol. The future is bright fellas!!

The game was alot closer than the score! Our OC needs to be shown the door because our offensive play calling was horrible at times. Empty backfield on 3rd & 2 inside the 5?!? Butch is loyal but he has to make the switch or leave with him when they all get fired!

Sorry...I might have missed it but did Worley keep it once tonight? Not that it changes things but if the answer is no...well, then that says something for me.

Yeah, he kept it once for a run in the red zone. Then he threw an INT. However, with the amount of times he's been drilled he gets a pass for that.

really?....that has been the motto for years!! "we are young..we will get better" said Dooly in his first year...so what is the "excuse"
now?

Dooley's 2012 team should have won eight games by just getting off the bus. The stars from that team went pro and the recruiting class that resulted was putrid by SEC standards so we were back in another rebuild. I think we are in the right track. Let it play out.

Three plays were huge and the lack of holding calls against OU were a big factor.

The missed fumble call.
The INT where Croom was out fought for the ball on a beautiful pass by worley.
The poor play call/decision by Worley on the other INT in the end zone returned for a TD.

In order to have a chance against a team like OK you have to reverse those three plays.

Just got in from watching the games so its probably already been said but OU's defense was about as good as I've ever seen and the Vol D played lights out in the second half.

Thanks. Once. Nice. Sorry but we'll need him to do so around 10 times/game. The OL didn't help him much tonight, but I don't think he helped himself a bit either.

hire some competent coaches. I like some of them especially their recruiting abilities. The OC has to go plain and simple.

Butch is a very loyal guy. He has decisions to make. Ones that could effect his career. I say could....I love Butch but he can't be hard headed...its pretty obvious

We were playing the fourth ranked team in the country at their house simpleton. We are playing 20 plus true freshman . Many of these guys have not even played a road game. If you can't understand the challenge that presents then you truly are as ignorant as your posts make you appear . We were incredibly outclassed on experience and stood toe to toe with one of the favorites to make the 4team playoff . Take off the doomsday glasses. This team has gone through immortal hell for the last 5 plus years and have every reason to quit at the first sign of trouble . This team showed tonight that they are different . Hide and watch . We will beat one of the BIG teams this year and you doomsdayers are going to be eating major crow .

The kids seem to be getting better, but our play calling does baffle me. I'm not sold on this offensive scheme. We are completing passes but they don't seem to be fooling people.

Excuse? Tell you what, watch the game again and count how many times the phrase "true freshman" were used. That should answer all your questions.

Oklahoma is not over rated. Their defense is lights out!
No disagreement there! That's why I picked #2 and believe and say we're better than given credit for.

I might have agreed with you a few years ago, but I'm starting to lose my ability to be optimistic with every loss against good competition.
I feel your pain, but; this wasn't a "moral victory" of the past years. This was a showing of true player improvement and competition. :clapping: I do have some doubts starting to develop over the offensive play calling after that bone headed call on the goal line. I'm not an expert by any stretch, but; I would have ran the ball for at least the 1st down or a TD and went for a FG if that failed. :banghead2:
