Regarding you “being allowed to have an opinion on a message board”, I guess that’s true even how ridiculous and absurd it may be.I think he is a great coach, but hasnt done anything to prove to be elite.. Doesnt mean I would fire him tomorrow but I am allowed to have an opinion on a message board lol
For TN baseball programs, he has been in the elite category. In terms of all NCAA baseball, I think he needs to win more than 2 games in Omaha before he earns the same level of elite as a Corbin or someone like that.. I think he is still on the way there, but several eye sores in his coaching patterns need to change for him to make that jump in my eyes“Hasn’t done anything to prove to be elite”
Dawg there is no way you’re sober. 2/3 years has taken us to Omaha. Assembled best team probably in CBB history in 2022. He is the entire program. Tennessee wasn’t even making REGIONALS for years before him.
2 CWS appearances in 3 seasons and the 1 year in between was the best statistical season of all time and 1 game away from 3 consecutive CWS appearances. Oh yeah but he’s not eliteI think he is a great coach, but hasnt done anything to prove to be elite.. Doesnt mean I would fire him tomorrow but I am allowed to have an opinion on a message board lol
Let’s see…he has won the regular season and tournament of the hardest conference in baseball. He has made the CWS twice. He is the best Tennessee coach we have had since Pat Summit in any sport. If you are depending on national titles to be “elite” then I have nothing for you. He is the definition of elite and maybe 2-3 guys out there are considered better and they are coaching at proven national powers..For TN baseball programs, he has been in the elite category. I think everyone should realize that Tony is known for experimenting with his lineup early in the season. This will not be the lineup come SEC play. We got the big win against Texas Tech. They will be in the hunt for the Big 12 championship and will be a huge RPI win imo. As for tonight, can’t leave 10 guys on base and expect to win any game. That’s what lost the game. Pitching looked good for 9 innings and then the wheels fell off. Recharge tonight and go for the “series win” so to speak tomorrow. It’s all about winning series, let’s not forget that…
We have beaten that coach you think so highly of 7 consecutive games and they haven’t made the CWS in multiple years now. They always had a recruiting advantage with that scholarship loophole with them being a private institution and now it doesn’t matter because kids want to play for Tony. I guess we should go lose to teams like FAU instead of OklahomaFor TN baseball programs, he has been in the elite category. You're watching tonight though, right?
