The Official Tennessee Titans thread IV

I now know the feelings that Dallas Cowboys fan was going threw when Dak slid and time expired vs 49ers in the playoff and he decided to unload his pistol’s clip into his TV screen….

I'd rather take my medicine and not keep kicking can down the road for prior personnel mistakes. See the Saints now....

Saints cap situation isn’t as friendly as ours will be next season. Even if we do the “kick the can” path as you say, we would be coming off a season with a lot of cap space to use in the offseason considering a $36m QB is coming off the books….. We don’t evem have to tank like the Dolphins to rebuild this roster. We just have to draft smart, but we can’t. Tannehill’s deal sucks, but it’s expiring so it only has to suck for a season.

Kicking the can down the road to hopefully squeeze in the playoffs as 8-9 crappy division winner isn't what you all need....

Agree. Putting off getting a quarterback just so that we can maybe win a weak division in 2023 isn’t the way to go. Now is the time to start planning for the future. I just hate that we’ve made Will Levis our future.

Trading AJ combined with drafting Malik combined with drafting Levis is back to back drafts is something an episode of Punk’d should take credit for.

But again, I want to emphasize: AJ was a much more egregious action (look at the Lamar Jackson stuff over the offseason: no “I want a bigger contract or I’m not gonna play” ever actually amounts to them actually sitting out a year…except for one case and it pretty much ruined his career).

@BigOrangeMojo @TrueOrange I know i'm ranting like a clown, but you guys have been enjoyable and insightful convo tonight. This is just depressing how Titans are handling back to back drafts.... I was really hoping to see this happen after the 1st round ended and once we traded up in the 2nd round:

QB - Tannehill
RB - Henry
WR1 - Burks
WR2 - Mingo / Hyatt
TE1 - Chig
TE2 - Meyer

Now we still have holes in the Receiver and Tight End position and don't have a pick until #81.....

Yes Trading AJ was bad, but that entire draft from start to finish last year was an abomination... Amy seems like genuinely a good person, but her ownership and management absolutely blows.

It's the reason he was getting first rd buzz. It certainly wasn't his pedigree or college success that had him in the mix. Don't be ignorant and a smart ass. It's one or the other

I vividly remember Kiper (the Draft God himself) saying that Levis should be top of the draft because of his ability to play through injury at a crap school..... LMAO

I would have taken a TE or WR. You need skill players in the worst way since Henry likely has 1 more good year left, at best and you F*cked up the AJ Brown situation. I just understand the thought process in evaluating risk/reward with taking Levis.

He was getting first round buzz because this draft class is weak. He was getting first round buzz because of his size. It has nothing to do with talent, he has none.

Josh Allen is the exception, not the rule. He unfortunately changed the way people evaluate QB’s, but he is extremely unique and Levis will not come close to anything he’s done.

Bingo. Without doing a deep dive into the stats, I would say not many quarterbacks with Josh Allen’s college statistics have been successful in the NFL in the modern era. He’s a rarity. Excluding Allen, the league’s best quarterbacks were good, in many cases great, at the collegiate level.

Young’s yards per attempt was better as was interception numbers. Those statistics are indicators of a quarterback’s accuracy as well. And just turning on the tape, Will Levis isn’t isn’t the same stratosphere as Bryce Young from an accuracy standpoint.

That’s why he went in the 2nd rd.

You can't put this in a stat category, but Bryce is also a very smart quarterback to put it simply..... Levis has tons of tape in multiple games of making flat dumb decisions....

You don't know what you're talking about. He has an absolute hose. The question is what does he get out of it. I can't believe you could be this confidently wrong about something. Maybe don't be a dick next time

His decision making is terrible, he has no feel for the position, he plays it scared to death. Hes going to be worse than Zach Mettenburger was

So as of now, we sit like this:

QB- Tannehill / Levis
RB- Henry / Hassan
WR- Burks
WR- Chris Moore :rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:
TE- Chig
TE- ?????
LT- Dillard
LG- Skoronski
C- Brewer
RG- Radunz o_Oo_Oo_O
RT- Petit-Frere

Literally they were right there to fill some holes with Hyatt, Mingo, or Mayer...... Titans gonna Titans, y'all

Bryce also elevated the performance of those around him. Crazy to say this but I think it’s true: Alabama is a 7-5, 8-4 team without him last year. He carried that team so many times. Can’t really recall a time where Levis elevated the performance of those around him.
