The Official Tennessee Titans thread IV

Good win......1st win in 8 tries.....hopefully this gives them some confidence going forward

I thought the Chargers were going to run away with it after they went up 11-0. Nice resolve by the team, especially the offense in the second half and overtime. O-line still needs some serious work though.

Are the Chargers supposed to be good?
They're always supposed to be good, yet they never are. The Chargers are the most talented perennial underachievers in the NFL. They are in serious need of a head coaching upgrade. In my opinion, they should target Eric Bienemy as their new head coach.

Well, they were missing their best player on offense.

Tannehill, outside of a couple times when he took a needless sack, was about as good as one could have hoped bouncing back from last week.

The o line should start to get better, by about week 4 they should be starting to gel.

Big issue with DB's moving forward, can they stay healthy.

I really think he’s (Tannehill) upper half of the league in terms of talent.

Even today, at age 35, I do not disagree. People forget, he was a 1st round pick for a reason. It’s been his lack of consistency that’s perpetually held him back, going back to his Miami days.

I blame lack of talent around him. The man got Corey Davis paid. But outside of that season, we’ve not given him much to work with.

This is why I hated the Levis pick so much..... 2025 class is going to be insanely deep with QB's..... Tannehill is on an expiring deal this season. When we traded up in the 2nd, I for sure thought it was to draft Mike Meyer from Notre Dame. With that pick, you now have solidified 3/4 of your receiving corp on rookie deals with a minimum of 2 years together where those 3 guys overlap on rookie contracts. With Tannehill expiring, you can then go into the draft to grab a QB. And by rolling with Tannehill / Malik with a receiving pick (instead of Levis), you either turn things around and win the division or you suck and have a top 10 pick in a heavy QB draft class. That is where my anger came from with the Levis pick, not the Kentucky angle.

Having Tannehill come off the books with the following core for a QB to walk into would be too logical:

WR - Burks (Contract 2024 / 2025)
WR - Hopkins (Contract 2024)
TE - Chig (Contract 2024 / 2025)
TE - Meyer (Contract 2024 / 2025 / 2026)

There will be plenty of young top graded QB's in the draft class late into the first round this class.
