The Official Tennessee Titans thread IV

Well don't look at SF and Baltimore as the #1 seeds in the playoffs then. Both Top 10 in rush attempts and Bottom 5 in pass attempts.
San Fran wins off a better defense than the Titans have ever had.

Baltimore actually has a decent pass game. Lamar has improved a ton in that area.

I know. They're both terrible. I think Carolina being so bad is a nose for the NFC. The Texans probably have a better shot of winning a game in the playoffs. Jacksonville folded up like a cheap tent since SF went in there and beat their assrs
Yeah, now the answer is the NFC South, but in the past 2-3 years it was widely regarded to be the AFC South. Everyone beat everyone in the division, but then outside of it the division was getting smoked by most of the teams it played.

It wasn't just a late TD, they set up to take a knee and then ran a play
According to Allen and Winston the coaches called a knee..... the players decided to score.

But honestly it's pretty soft to be whining about..... . Unless it's youth where a team could win 100-0 who cares.

Anyways, on to the off season.

If Henry is willing to come back as RB2 in the 3million ish range, I think you do it, but no way he should be RB1.

That’s dumb, if true. He’s just poking the bear with that sort of thinking.
From twitter reports I've seen, so take it with a grain of salt....... Vrabel is upset because he wanted J Rob's assistant GM to get the GM job, so now he wants someone over Rans head because he doesn't like the analytical stuff that's been brought in.

Don’t most organizations have a President or VP of football operations that’s over the GM and coach?
I think Vrabel has a little too big of an ego for a couple decent seasons of worth of production. If NE offered a 3rd I'd take it in a heart beat. Seems like he's trying to undermine Ran already. Bye.

That’s a pretty strange request by Vrabel if true. And if there really are internal issues with oversight and the division of labor, that’s squarely on Amy. While I can appreciate the hands-off approach and wanting to leave the football decisions to the football people, it’s up to ownership to get the house in order.

Would need more than a 3rd to make that deal.

We can do better than a third. If that's all, I'd rather hang on to him. I have to think we have at least some leverage.

Also, I'm honestly not sure what about the Patriots job is particularly appealing right now.

The question of "what is the value of a high end coach in terms of draft capital" is an interesting one. I would never give the Sean Payton level 1st and a 3rd for any coach. But I think I'd happily take a 3rd or better for most any coach.

Surely there are some exceptions? I can't look at the track record of guys like Belichick, Reid, Harbaugh, Tomlin, Belichick, McVey, Shanahan, Pederson, Carroll, etc. and think those teams would have been better off swapping their coach for an extra third rounder.

Sure, and as much as I like Vrabel, he's not at that point yet. I think he has that potential, but without a roster, I think coaches are very overrated.
