The Official Tennessee Titans thread IV

Titans and Bucs both made big mistakes hiring offensive coordinators who the young quarterbacks got along with because of a decent season where it looked like both Mariota and Winston were on the right track

Both teams also have quite a bit of talent and the right coach could win 11 games in first year ie Sean McVay

Bucs have some holes don’t get wrong but

Winston
Evans
Howard
Brate
Jackson(not sure he’s the same guy he was but I’ll still chalk it up to the horrible season in general a good year could have had much different results)
Martin(same as Jackson juries out)

Brate and Howard could do tons of damage in 2 TE sets with the right coach

Defense has

Gerald McCoy
Lavonte David
Chris Baker
Kwon Alexander
Brent Grimes
Justin Evans
William Gholston
Kendall Beckwith

It’s beyond laughable how bad the bucs are with all that talent but at least those sorry ass coaches should get fired and more top picks hopefully we hit on some future stars

I know the titans have plenty of talent too

Good OL with 2 young high draft picks in Lewan and Conklin who have both been good maybe great in conk case

Great duo or RBs

Pretty good WRs and a possible future star in Davis

Defense I’m not so sure about

Casey is a beast I know that
Adoree is on his way there

Other then that Cyprien and Orakpro are only other guys I recognize as good players but that was when they were on other teams not sure about

So it’d be best for the Titans this weekend for:

-Oakland to lose to the Eagles
-LA Chargers to lose to the Jets (OR Chargers to lose to Oakland, after the Eagles beat the Raiders this week)
-Dolphins to lose to the Chiefs

-It would help if Baltimore could somehow lose their next two games against the Colts and Bengals....

-It could also help if the Bills lose their next two games to New England and Miami.

May as well ask for hell to freeze over...

If I was Derrick Henry, I would request a trade. Malarkey is about as big of an idiot as Butch Jones. They would be the only 2 coaches to start all the bench players and have a sideline full of stars watching the team suck it up.

Henry should be the feature back in this offense, no doubt. Murray had a good season last year but he’s just been mediocre this year. Henry gives a spark to the run game IMO. I’ve been saying this for the last 6 weeks. He needs more touches. A lot more

Depends if anything else is on the line. Technically, if Jacksonville wins out and Pittsburgh loses a game in the next two weeks, the Jags would move ahead of them to the 2-seed by tiebreakers. Honestly, the Jags are even still alive for the 1-seed spot depending on how New England’s games go.

So in all likelihood, unless Jacksonville loses to San Francisco AND Tennessee loses to the Rams next week...then it’s looking like they’re probably playing their starters during the last week.

Solid answer. I wasn’t even sort of aware that Jacksonville was still alive for the one seed. These next two weeks are going to be tough boys and girls. Gonna suck if we manage to be sitting 8-4 two weeks ago and blow he playoffs.

Thanks. Also tragic.

That's a lot to ask for, but thankfully none of it's out of the question outside of Baltimore.

To be fair, Baltimore’s probably not the most necessary one.

Philadelphia keeping Oakland below 8-8 is huge for potential tiebreakers.
As would the Chiefs beating the Dolphins.
Which pretty much leaves the Chargers dropping a game.

New England will probably beat Buffalo, so hopefully the Bills would drop the game against Dolphins the weekend after.

Sims could be out the rest of the year with a hamstring. I would love an explanation of why it seems like this entire team has had hamstring injuries all year... either the biggest coincidence in football or badly planned workouts.

Derrick Henry is probably the most overrated player on our roster. Big and fast does not equal superstar, especially when he changes direction about as quickly as the Titanic.

Henry is a great player, he already has 10 rushing touchdowns, averages over 4.5 ypc (4.8 this season) and is approaching 1,200 yards. Which isn't bad at all considering he's been Murray's backup since he got here.

He’s a solid back, he’s not a great player. Like 1/4 of his yards this year are on long runs when the game is already over.

This. The fact that a 6-4 250 RB has to bump everything outside and can't gain 2 yards up the middle is extremely concerning
