The Official Tennessee Titans thread IV

Huh? Hes average, maybe slightly above average on his best days.

His longevity and career stats say otherwise. I wouldn't call him great, but was better than most QB's during his prime. He's tailed off the last few years, but he's still good enough to start for many teams.

I know its not super impressive but we're now at 5 straight seasons of not ending the season below .500 the culture turnaround here has been amazing.

I know Vrabel and Robinson deserve credit, but I don’t think it’s coincidence that our culture seemed to turn right around the time Amy Adams Strunk took control of the franchise.

Browns, Jags, and Lions are our next 3 opponents. I know this is the Titans we’re talking about (and the Browns are much better than usual), but we could very realistically be at 11 wins before the Green Bay game.

We’re gonna drop one of these, I’ve just got that feeling. The Cincinnati game a few weeks ago makes me feel that way.

I’m extremely happy that the Titans showed winning consistency in the 2nd half, also the Titans made a great statement because most points allowed at home for the Colts since 1984, the Titans won a must win division game, Derrick Henry had a terrific game including 3 touchdowns, also he ran for most of his yards in the 1st half , and the Titans played a full great game.

I had to work Sunday during this game except I still was able to see score information on tvs since I work at Texas Roadhouse.

The Titans offense looked like the elite 1999 Rams scoring offense in Indianapolis.

I really hate Philip Rivers there's just something about him that I can't stand.
I can't stand him because he's a qb who likes to run his mouth. There are a few but the extent to which Rivers does it pisses me off. I can't stand a guy who's in a protected position like that running his mouth and instigating knowing the refs won't let defenses mix it up with him.

Back in the day we would call that "talking ish in a safe place" and if your were one of those guys you were considered a punk.

Posted on Gotitans.com. Rather interesting D performance perspective:

Some interesting nuggets I found from @thejoezilla:

Since @blaqbadger14 become a Titan, the defense has allowed 20 conversions on 55 3rd down attempts. A conversion ratio of 36%

Before King was brought in the Titans defense allowed 53 conversions on 82 attempts for a ratio of 65%

Breon Borders-
Before Borders and King
7 games - 7 sacks

Insert Border and King
4 games - 7 sacks

In that 4 game span, they played the #1 ranked offense (Total yards) twice in three weeks.

They faced the #2 passing offense twice in the Colts, who are also #1 in Total yards, and they faced the #1 rushing team in the NFL. The Ravens.

Ravens have averaged 160 yards a game. The Titans held them to 133 yards.

The Colts average 293 yards of passing a game.
In two meetings in three weeks the Titans allowed the Colts to 288 yards. A marginal improvement

In 7 games before Borders and King the Titans were giving up 397 yard of offense a game.

In four games since they got into the line up. They have allowed 327 yards a game .

Titans remaining opponents offensive rankings:

Cleveland #24
Jacksonville #27
Detroit #22
Green Bay #7
Houston #17

This is some good stuff. Also think Vrabel is a really good coach and made adjustments to help out the defense.

I know it’s early, but I think Vrabel will turn out better than Fisher. The players love him and he’s been around Belichik for too long. We’ve got our next long term coach.

I hope so. A sign of an elite coach is losing key starters and not seeing a drop off in results. We've seen that all season with the OL. Now we are seeing it with LBs and in the secondary. Really like the Borders kid.

I really want to believe that Robinson and Vrabel is a duo that will win multiple Super Bowls together in Nashville.

Of course, things change quickly in the NFL. And they could both be fired within 3 years for all we know.

Shout out to Quessenberry. Great job stepping in at T.

Titans have the ability to take all 5 of their remaining games. Texans took it on the chin this week losing Fuller and Robey to suspensions so that helps on the last game of the regular season. The late game in GB at the end of the month adds weather/conditions to the issues despite the Titans being a much more physical team than the Pack. Getting the Browns at home helps a lot. Will see how it goes. Win 3-4 and they should be in good shape going into the playoffs.

Agree but we might be coasting by that tx game. Hopefully we won’t need it and are able to rest some key players for that one.

Anyone know how bad AJ Browns injury is?

Brown is good to go. Practiced today. D-Freeman is back, Humphries is back as well. But then it gets dicer.

J-Smith is out. Adoree out. Wilson out (illness). Saffold and Simmons are questionable. A bunch of others are dinged up but plan to play.

Browns have 3 out - Ward, Hodge and Taylor along with a couple questionable as well .
