The Official Tennessee Titans thread IV

RAW, EPA, PAA - all bottom half. PFF is paywall so cannot see. He’s basically middle pack for them at 14 and won’t get better in a year.

He’s not signing here anyway. Bad team in a small market won’t be attractive to a 41yo declining QB who wants attention.

Pff grade isn’t paywall. Lol and what’s the “who wants attention” part about?

PFF grade before last week was 12th. If you want to argue semantics, do so with yourself. It would be a major upgrade

No I’m pointing out your silly statement that you hoped people would just ignore haha. In no way shape or form is Rodgers one of the best QBs in the league right now. You always double down on stupid takes.

I searched PFF QB rankings which required a subscription to view. Didn’t realize you could get there this way. Thanks.

AR has a weekly media segment where he stirs up drama and feuds, dates public figures, and now has a documentary. He’s gotten involved with politicians and candidates. Blames his teammates in the media. Screams attention whore to me.

To me he kept everything low key until people started coming after him over the Covid stuff. He don’t go out of his way to let his opinion be known or speak out against vaccines or anything until people found out he had covid

I do not understand this ****. Kiffin won 7 games at UT almost 15 years ago and has never won anything since, and still to this day we have fans clamoring for him. Meanwhile CJH just took us to the CFB playoff and some fans want him fired. Never change VN.
I agree with you. The Titans should hire Heupel instead of Kiffin.

Since it is Christmas time -

If I was Santa or the Titans GM; I would try to sign a FA QB who is either a potential franchise QB, or, a proven transition QB so that I had the flexibility to draft a franchise guy in a future draft in 2026 0r 2027. I am not willing to draft the current top two QB picks in this upcoming draft as I see neither one as a franchise QB who can win a SB someday. I am willing to draft the next tier down in a later round if I do one of the two FA signings above. That pick would need to be a guy with upside I could develop into a franchise guy or use as an attractive trade piece down the road.

JMO - the only way this org is going to attract better FA talent to the roster is doing one of those two methods. which means the existing two have to be jettisoned in a few weeks. I do not want to lose the opportunity to bolster the roster with quality non-QB picks in this draft. There are too many major holes to plug.

I’ve been singing the praises of what the Steelers did for awhile now. I love the cheap/potential they got from their QBs.

A guy like Wilson who has high end play in his past At a veteran minimum, mixed with a young QB who may still have starter potential for a late pick.

Would love to find something similar.

Need to stick with Levis if we aren't going to draft a QB. There is absolutely no point in signing a QB to come in and win 6-8 games so we can pick number 15 when the QBs are gone in the next draft.

Depends on the potential of who you find. I was wanting Mayfield a few years ago when most on here thought he was trash because of the potential.

If you find someone who could be a starter at the right price, make the move. But I agree that I wouldn’t look to bring in Minshew to just have a starter. Because there’s no value in a few extra short term wins.

That’s why I was opposed to benching Levis when everyone else wanted to. We never had playoff potential, so all we could accomplish is hurting our own draft stock

Do you have any insight on Callahan's philosophy for offense? What is the offensive identity he wants? I have no idea and the team was so terrible I could not get a read on what their identity is.

Other than telling you his father is really well known as a west coast guy, idk a ton. I always kept up with more college level offenses than NFL. Always felt there was more innovation there and that most in NFL are doing the same things. In the nfl you really only have a few different systems you see (Air Coryell, West Coast, and Earhardt/Perkins). You used to see some run n shoot guys in the late 80s and early 90s but most systems have simply taken the things they liked from that (switch releases and everyone reads the seam route now) and incorporated it.

The stuff schematically that interests me in the pros is normally defense. I’ve studied a lot of the Ryan family, Dick Lebeau and his fire zone scheme, and a lot of NFL quarters schemes.

But I’ve never went deep into NFL offense stuff. With the exception of Martz of his Rams teams

There is plenty of value for Ran, which is all that matters. The Titans have to show improvement next year, or he's done.
