Lol.... they've got 5 with the Colts, Jags and Texans still on the schedule. Guarunteed to win the Colts and one of Jags/Texans now that Schaub is out. All three should be pretty much a given, but there's no way they lose more than one.

Guaranteed win against the Texans? It's in Houston and Leinart or Yates will be settled in at QB at that point and with their running game, I would still say Texans win that game.

We'll see. I'm not ready to say the Texans AREN'T the favorite to win the division, as I still think they've got the running game and defense to win the AFC South. However, we've all seen what happens when teams lose QBs. History is definitely not on the side of the Texans.

If I had to bet, I'd still go with the Texans, but it wouldn't surprise me to see them implode. At least I'd like to see them implode. But at this point, I'd like to see how they respond before rushing to judgment. Their schedule is certainly more favorable than the Titans'. Over the last seven games, I see the Titans going 5-2 at best, 2-5 at worst. The Texans' schedule is a lot more favorable. The Titans would almost assuredly have to go 5-2 to win the division, with the Texans going 2-4 (EDIT: which I find unlikely).

The Texans have 3 guaranteed wins I think (Colts, Jags and Panthers) that's 10 wins, and that wins this division

I'm just going to watch. It's not out of the question yet that 9-7 gets a wild card berth. I think it's tough to imagine, considering the Steelers and Bengals both have a tie-breaker over the Titans. I think it would have to be the Steelers or Bengals winning the North and everybody else imploding.

This is very true. Can't forget that there are only five 3-loss teams in the AFC and two of them play this weekend (Ravens vs Bengals). With four losses, the Titans are very much in control of their own destiny in the Wild Card race.

Still gun-shy on this team and will continue to be until they can be consistent.

Funny thing is that 4 of the team's wins have been very decisive or blowouts (Ravens-decisive, Indy, Carolina, Cleveland-blowouts). Conversely, two of the four losses were blowouts. Some real peaks and valleys with this team. Wish Britt was still healthy. :cray:

If the Steelers win, I am a steelers fan the rest of the year (until they lock up the North) and rooting hard against the Bengals. If the Ravens win.... well I'll just root against everybody.

We hold the wildcard tiebreaker over the Ravens, so keep that in mind. If we had held on to win the Cincy game, I would feel very good about our chances of making the playoffs. That loss was the biggest swing of the season, other than the Texans game, but the Cincy game was more frustrating, because I thought we had it won in the first half.

I think the AFC is just average, before yesterday I thought the Texans were the best team but could be beat. Now I see about 3 or 4 teams that could win the AFC but would be about 5th best in the NFC.

As far as the AFC South goes, 10 wins the division for sure, maybe 9. Houston already has 7 and the Titans have 5 and the Titans have a much tougher schedule down the stretch.

Whole team is inconsistent. They really need to put a string of wins together to get my hopes up. They've been too up and down and right now still look like a 500 team. They'll have to play much better in the second half of the season to think playoffs.

New staff, new scheme, shorten offseason. Inconsistency was kind of expected. I think what we've all seen is the fact you put a decent QB back there and they have a much better chance than with Vince crybaby Young.

Really? A 1st round bust or a rookie 5th round pick? Texans better hope they can just keep running the ball

They will be able to continue to run the ball, I believe. And Leinart is still young. There's still time for him to prove he's not a bust.

If Denver can win with Tebow and basically nobody else, I think the Texans can win a few games with Leinart. I'm afraid this division is basically out of reach, and not because the Texans are going to continue to dominate, but because the Titans just aren't good enough to overcome that 2 game gap unless they win the rematch with the Texans, then it could come down to the other tie breakers, which I believe the Texans hold.

Wouldn't that be outstanding, though, if it came down to the Titans and Texans tied for the lead in the AFC South when they played each other in Week 17? That game would get so much national attention. And by so much, I mean more than most AFC South games.

Falcons, Bengals and Titans are really the only games I see the Texans having a legitimate shot at losing, and they would have to lose at least all three of those for the Titans to have a shot at the division. In reality, they'd have to lose a lot more than that, because I don't think we're winning out, boys.

Sadly, unless there's a new development in the wildcard hunt, I don't see us making the playoffs this year.

But really, compared to our preseason expectations, this year was kind of a success.

Well Good News is Broncos beat the Jets so the Titans move up in the WC Standings since the Jets now have 5 losses. Next hope the Dolphins beat the Bills on Sunday.

Titans have a chance to sweep the NFC North on the road in back to back weeks. I don't think JJones will be playing, and if he does he won't be 100 percent.
Interesting matchup will be Titans D needing to contain Michael the burner Turner, and White vs Verner or Finnegan.

Who are we fighting with for a wild card birth? The Jets? I like our chances there.

edit: Ah, the Bengals, realistically? I'm assuming the Ravens/Steelers will take one of those spots, so the Bengals seem to be our biggest comp right now (though I sadly can't say we're the biggest competition for them). It sucks that we lost the head-to-head.

You need to post some in the 12,000th thread today, SDV. Got our own whipping post in Falcon fan, jhen. Of course, stay away if we play poorly.
