The Official Tennessee @ Vanderbilt Game Thread, 8:00 PM ET, ESPN3

Also, with Odom already having 20 some odd points, why do we leave him so wide open to hit a dagger 3 with <1 min left?? It's almost as if we didn't learn that he was a good shooter from the first 39 minutes.

With the talent on this team there is no way they should be 14-8. We will be very lucky if we are even in the conversation as a bubble team come tourny time. I hate being negative and talking bad about any VOL but with a good coach this team would be ranked and have about 3 or 4 losses.

I agree. This team has really underachieved! But, there is still time to make the NCAA Tourney, but this has to be the last upset of the season if Martin wants to return next season.

This is so Dooley like it's almost scary. You could pull some of the old Dooley threads and change the names, you would never know the difference.

Right before halftime, 35 seconds left, no timeout called, turnover, basket Vandy. Potential 4 point swing.

26 seconds left in the game, 3 point lead, Vols with the ball, no timeout called.

Odom at the line 3 point lead. 2nd free throw, no time out called to ice him.

This is sadly Wade Houston-esque.

And then he calls it with 3 seconds left and we are down four points. Oh and on the opposite side of the court.

Most of Pearl's teams didn't need scores at the end of games. However, I can think of some games where we didn't get good shots in close games.

Even if it wasn't a good shot, at least it was a shot. We didnt even get one up at the most crucial point in the game.

I didn't see the game, but Bruce is not an X and O guy. He is a motivator. We had some struggles getting good shots in tight games, but I would take those struggles.

I'll never understand why CCM never calls a timeout to set up a final shot. Does he not have any plays? Does he just panic? This is the second time this season we have had a timeout and he just let them play and both time we didn't even get a look at the basket.

“In the big picture, basketball is a tournament sport,” Hart said. “Let’s make no doubt about it, the goal for everybody in the country — every coach and AD in the country — is to make the tournament. And there is only one tournament.”

Like Ohio satte in that Sweet 16 battle. Had there been a play to draw up it would have been nice with Lofton to take a shot to send us to the Elite 8. That being said I understood his logic because they didnt want Oden and Conley and CO. having a devised plan and hoped just a wild play in transition would work out. (Not to be lost in this is scenario playing a one of 2 best teams in America with NBA loaded roster to a last second loss. Compared to Cuonzo losing to well a team with 7 scholarship average Joes. Even losing with Pearl is better than losing with Cuonzo because at least it was marquee teams we were losing to.
