The Official Tennessee vs. #6 Florida Game Thread, 4:00pm ET, ESPN

It boils down to this CCM gets paid and paid well saw it is all on him good or bad period that is true of all paid careers.

He was definitely a hot name and a good hire, I'm just not sure I'd slap the home run label on him at the time he was hired. But that's just me.

Bruce Pearl was the only reason why I started watching the men's basketball team again.

He legitly gave a corky smirk then winked. Who knows. We lost because we don't play hard & can't shoot the ball. I feel like I'm missing something though..

It all goes back to coaching, IMO. Even though Cuonzo isn't out there shooting, he is still responsible for the team. They should be practicing a lot things but it's evident they're not. I'm not sure what Cuonzo has them doing during practice if anything.

so you are ok with how the team looked just because Florida has some more talent?

thats great.

good thing we have a coach where the only acceptable answer to every loss is that they other team was better. No chance in ever beating better teams.

fantastic outlook for the program

Not even remotely what I meant, but exactly the level of crap I've become accustomed to in here. Y'all have a nice day.

Don't care how many beat writers, analysts, media say there is no way Tennessee brings back Bruce Pearl.... He is absolutely the best choice to replace our awful coaching staff and is loved by the fan base.... His errors are nothing compared to the Mizzou coach and he was only suspended 5 games.... NCAA fail

If Egypt can topple their own gov't with social media, we should be able to influence the rehire of Bruce.

Be careful. You're fixing to get blasted not by me though.

it can get very frustrating when others stretch what was actually said and it's the base for many of my principal office visits.

Sillyness.

There's no shame in losing to the No. 6 team on the road, even though we looked completely inept in doing so. We have plenty of bad losses that trump this one.

Personally, I can handle losing to better teams on the road. It's the others that may keep us out of the tournament.

Every individual on the team should shoot 3's instead of taking it to the paint. That's how they want to play and that's how they are going to get blown out.

Not really worried. What others say with a keyboard shouldn't phase anyone...mostly because it is far from what they would say face-to-face.

Just don't see how people can say hiring Bruce Pearl back is a bad idea. There is obviously a huge discrepancy in punishments by the NCAA. If Bruce Pearl had done the exact same thing 3 years later, he would have simply gotten a few games suspension.

Mizzou's coach lied 3 SEPARATE TIMES ABOUT MONEY LAUNDERING and only got a 5 game suspension. And he never admitted to lying after the facts came to light.

At least Bruce admitted his mistake and it was over a BBQ!...a freaking BBQ

Craziest part of all of this:

If UT had kept Bruce Pearl, they were going to impose a 3 year post season ban. This will be the 3rd year of no post season (NIT doesn't count) if we don't make it. I know no one could have foreseen this but it is still crazy to think about. If we had kept Bruce, we would be in the same situation that we are in now.

I know that we could have less talent because kids want to play in the tourney, but I would rather high school kids have seen what Bruce was able to do with that less talent than what CCM hasn't done with better talent.

Nobody wants to be lied to and before Bruce admitted his mistake he lied about it. Then he asked parents and recruits to lie about it. THE NCAA hit him hard for doing that and I bet they would do it the same again. It's very unfortunate for the university, fans, and his players.

Jarnell Stokes. That's the only good thing about that game. As much as I want to praise him for his effort, offensively...probably half of his points...missed lay ups by the rest of the team that he cleaned up for them.

The most thoroughly out coached we've looked under Martin.

Can't play against their zone. Can't break their press. Can't stop them from driving the lane.

Pick and roll looked like something this team had never seen.

But hey, what do you expect against the #6 team in the nation, right?

With our inability to shoot at all, we're completely wasting two dominant post players. It's really sad. Florida dared us to shoot open 3s and we went 1/19. Pathetic.
