The Official Tennessee vs. #6 Florida Game Thread, 4:00pm ET, ESPN

Not really worried. What others say with a keyboard shouldn't phase anyone...mostly because it is far from what they would say face-to-face.

Just don't see how people can say hiring Bruce Pearl back is a bad idea. There is obviously a huge discrepancy in punishments by the NCAA. If Bruce Pearl had done the exact same thing 3 years later, he would have simply gotten a few games suspension.

Mizzou's coach lied 3 SEPARATE TIMES ABOUT MONEY LAUNDERING and only got a 5 game suspension. And he never admitted to lying after the facts came to light.

At least Bruce admitted his mistake and it was over a BBQ!...a freaking BBQ

Didn't know that about Mizzou's coach. Wow!

Anyway, I agree that he admitted his mistake and is paying for it right now. Some people just can't get past the lying part, hence the reason they don't want Bruce back. Fear that he may do it again or do something else to attract the NCAA's attention.

Hope everyone enjoyed the game today. Promise you one thing, a Bruce Pearl coached team would have given a much greater threat to Florida. As long as we have Conzo , expect more of the same.

Yeah, Mizzou's current coach was Miami's coach during the Shapiro days

He legitly gave a corky smirk then winked. Who knows. We lost because we don't play hard & can't shoot the ball. I feel like I'm missing something though..

Maybe the tinfoil hat? :whistling:

Donovan's teams typically rank near the top in the country for fewest fouls; it's a long-standing characteristic...

So far this year we're #16 in the nation and #1 in the SEC for fewest fouls per game, with an average of 16.2 per game.

Other recent finishes...

2013 - #4 nationally, #1 SEC with 14.0 per game.
2012 - #19 nationally, and #3 SEC with 15.5 per game.
2011 - #3 nationally, and #1 SEC with 14.7 per game
2010 - #7 nationally, and #2 SEC with 14.7 per game.

As for this game, we were the home team and we still got called for more fouls than our average with 17; and UT was only called for 2 more than that, 19... which is a little more than your average of 17.7 per game.

Looks like a pretty evenly called game to me.

Maybe before the game started the ref asked Billy if he was going to finally beat UT this time, and once it was over in such convincing fashion Billy gave him a wink.

I was talking about Coach Martin..

it might help alot if the ncaa stopped blocking chris walker but yea i think we got a good shot at the final 4

Chris will play, so our odds just got better, but they are still not as good as some gator fans think. 1 our of 2 to reach final four and 1 out of 4 if we get there. Hence,
1/2 x 1/4 = 1/8. Maybe a little better, say 15 per cent.

The discussion was about a supposed wink from BD to an official and claims by a few that the wink indicated a fixed game, with the evidence being the great disparity in foul calls.

Considering there was only a 2-foul difference between the 2 teams, and both teams' total fouls were in keeping with their season averages, not only wouldn't I call that a fixed game conspiracy, I'd contend that we didn't even get the typical home-cooking advantage that most home teams enjoy from SEC refs.

If you get him and he can get in game shape then I'd say there's a good chance you'll make it. Elite 8 at worse. Of course, it's always about matchups but Fla matches up well with pretty much everyone.
