The Official Tennessee vs. Georgia Game Thread, 9:00pm ET, ESPNU

Did I say it was on par with everyone else? No

You saying Richardson's defense is better than McRae's defense is false if you go by the numbers.

You said who doesn't complain, which sounds like you're trying to justify McRae's constant b!tching, no?

Ask Cuonzo who the best defender on the team is, I can assure you his answer won't be McRae.

I personally don't give two dog ****s about what Cuonzo says or his opinion. The numbers tell a different story.

I believe "who doesn't complain" was posed as a question.

McRae 2.6 assist per game. Tied for the lead with Thompson.

McRae doesn't pass the ball though.

What numbers are you referring to?

Like I said, Richardson is being mentioned as an all-sec defender, have never heard that about Jordy. There's a reason josh almost always guards the oppositions best player, this really seems pretty elementary.

If Stokes touched the ball all season like he did tonight, he'd be leading the team in assists.

Most people are smart enough to realize also that entry passes to a big rarely lead to an assist, so McRae's assists are mostly transition dump offs, or kick outs for 3s.

Not sure I follow.

Just passing it in to Jarnell and him scoring isn't automatically an assist. Am assist is only rewarded if the pass directly leads to a basket. So say when Barton dropped it into him, a double came and Stokes took a couple dribbles into these for a baby hook, no assist.

So what I'm saying is...just because someone is averaging 2 assists per game, doesn't automatically mean that they're passing the ball to Stokes frequently.

Gotcha. Not that you are disagreeing, my point is/was McRae would likely benefit from passing to Stokes as Stokes will likely pass the ball back out once McRae's defender slides off to double team Stokes, depending on the defense.

I get what your saying regarding the entry pass.

We won by 19 and the crowd seemed about as excited as someone would be watching paint dry.

That's the way I was. Think deep down some of the "crowd" was hoping TN would lose to help seal Cuonzo's fate? I wasn't hoping they would lose, but I too was about excited as watching paint dry.

Not understanding the McRae hate here. He's singlehandely won us more games than anyone on our team in the past two years. Maybe you all need to get over him being mad at refs for not getting foul calls when he's one of the best players in the league, it happens enough that several sports reporters talk about it constantly, so it can't just be him.

And we want to talk about *****ing? How about stokes in interviews when he doesn't get the ball? It's happened before and it'll happen again. No reason to hate on any one player when they get mad.

This fan base really needs to get over itself and people thinking they are important or understand basketball. These are still 18 to 22 year old kids. If you don't like it when they get mad for having a bad game or pout for not getting to shoot more (especially when you are the Go To guy on your team) then you should pick a different sport, because ALL levels have that in spades.

During the last two games McRae has been trying to get all the shots, even when Stokes is open down low. If you haven't noticed, McRae doesn't pass to Stokes to often. McRae would rather drive and kick it out to Stokes (or so it seems).

McRae has done better since his meltdown as a freshman, but he still whines to refs and pouts. I can't stand that part of his game.

I love Moore, but I cringe every time he takes a jump shot. His role is defense and bringing energy off the bench. He needs at least 10 minutes a game. The loudest cheer of the night was when he made that great block. Then Martin proceeds to call a timeout to quieten the crowd down.

Lol

Crap game. Horrible play and coaching move by Gonezo. We should have beat them by 40. BBB. BBB. Can't believe we only won by 19, bad offensive scheme and we should have played man to man instead of the zone.

They sell books about basketball it might help you understand.

Good to see Stokes get a lot of touches last night and Barton was solid shooting the 3 as well.

Solid win.

I don't think we have to get over ourselves when we have two very good players and good role players, and the team has struggled. Whether its coaching or players not playing together, it's a problem. You realized tonight that this team plays well when playing together. I think they play hard almost all the time, but I don't know that they play together. McRae has had some bad body language lately- don't know why people are upset at that being said. I just wonder if its been a big issue.
