The Official Tennessee vs. Georgia State Game Thread, 3:30 PM ET, ESPNU

Like. I’m not expecting an SEC championship.

I just want to be able to watch the game with people around Lololol. Without making excuses or screaming “F#CK!!!!!” Every 5 seconds.

It’s georgia State......can I just watch a calm, dominating game without needing to drink liquor to ease my nerves?

Just once? Jesus.

How do we have a former top 20 overall player at qb in his 4th year with Cheney as the oc and get such terrible play out of him? Because we’re tennew. That’s how. Lol. He should be the strength of our team and able to stand back there and absolutely pick apart a defense like ga state. Instead he doesn’t know where the sticks are and slides short, checks down when we he has plenty of time and needs to take a shot, and doesn’t go through progressions and find the open man. That last play he had Palmer was absolutely wide open. He waited way too long to throw it.

They’ll keep playing him though cause he has experience.

Idk man. Everything I read heard and saw over the off-season spelled improvement.
Same stuff I read. I never saw any tangible proof outside of pure speculation to back any of that up. "We got veterans" was the loudest chant. Yeah..when you have veterans who aren't good that doesnt somehow make them automatically become good..

I think people are concerned about the floor vs ceiling discussion that needs to happen now. I figured that the floor with an opponent this poor would be a 21 point win. Not that it'd be up in the air at half. So we have to ask ourselves if the ceiling is much lower as well. It's just logical.

I think they end by winning by more than 21

They had 9 returning starters on offense. Our dline is what we thought it would be, a work in progress. This may end up a nailbiter. Has all the ingredients..

Just checking in but watching this our OL needs to be able to give another second two and JG is not it! Also going right instead of left where I feel our strength is concerns me. His arm is not what it needs to be. I’ll get bashed but I watched the UK game today and I’d Take Wilson 7 days it of 7! He has strength, accuracy and is committed to the throw. Something I thought I would see this year with JG.

According to Doug Mathews, doesn’t matter how good they are cause they’re bigger and more experienced. Lol. What an idiot. If you can’t play in the SEC, I don’t give an ish his big and experienced you are, you just can’t play.

Why are people surprised? We had zero development on the o-line last year, and we got blown out by Mizzou and Vandy. Pruitt is not the answer. It’s obvious that he does not develop players.
At the least I have no idea why we keep this oline coach... I mean what the heck has he done at this point to keep his job? I mean we have 5 stars all over the oline and still stink? Last year was the same. I don’t know.

I really thought we would see results from the strength program this season, but it seems like we're still getting pushed around at the line of scrimmage.
I didn't see that at all. Quite the opposite. QB scrambling and the middle of the field is what's hurting. Star position is not looking promising

What I am looking for.
1. At least 300 yards rushing. 49 points.
2. JG uniform stays clean, unless he is running the ball.
3. At the most, one turnover.
4. At the least. two takeaways
5. 40 yards or less in penalties
6. 100% in the red zone - 90% being TD's

But, I am totally prepared to be disappointed on every single expectation.

Best I can anticipate now is a C- or a D+. And that is kinda a long shot.
