The Official Tennessee vs. Louisiana State Game Thread, 12:00 PM ET, ESPNU

Sorry, completely disagree with you there. This was Vescovi’s first game so I’m giving him a pass. Like I said, SV looks to have a lot of potential, but if you don’t believe having 9 turnovers by one player, that being your PG, isn’t a problem then you are dead wrong.

Its not like we were winning every game in spite of a bunch of turnovers before Vescovi got here. It has been a problem several times this year no matter who was playing PG, and when it has happened we usually lose.....(Wisconsin, Cincinnati, Memphis, LSU, Florida State)- all of those were games with 14+ turnovers, and all of them were losses. It’s no coincidence two of our best wins (Washington, and Murray St) were games with less than 14 TO’s. This problem just reared it’s ugly head again today with a different PG. We will get better. That is all
TOs and the disparity on the free throw line.We rebounded and shot well enough to win.

Why does vescovi look like he’s the only one who sort of knows how offense works? He got here a week or two ago.

He’s the only one comfortable with the ball in his hands. All of the others are scared shitless when they get it.

Goodness, I’m not surprised he had some turnover issues. He’s playing at a level that he’s never played before. The opponent is very athletic, long and physical. Plus his teammates didn’t have a good feel of how he plays. He’s a freshman. After 1 game, he’s the best freshman besides Stokes we’ve seen here during the Post Pearl era. Not even close.

The reason your post gets no likes is because in my opinion Vescovi's turnovers were not the difference in the game. There are a number of reasons we lost including your starting senior SG with 3 points and double digit misses. Was that the difference in the game? How about the 5 FT's? Yes, Vescovi needs to cut down on the turnovers but it wasn't the difference in the game. We had a post player with 3 turnovers and he doesn't handle the ball and he didn't give us much else. By saying if Vescovi has 0 turnovers then we win is flawed. We lost by double digits.

How many points did we score in the paint? I think that is the reason we lost.

No, the reason my post didn’t get many likes is bc the game is over, we lost, and not many give AF about reading this thread anymore. And even then, I still received more likes than your posts lol. As far as your other points about the FT’s, Bowden and Nkamhoua....I already mentioned that and completely covered it in my initial post if you would re-read

You can really see why coach is so upset at not getting Uros eligible. His presence alone makes a big difference. Even if he didn't score alot and just pounded the glass and protect the rim he makes this team much better because Faulky bless his heart is trying but he physically is not capable of what we our asking from him. So with losing Turner as well your best on ball defender Ted our D is struggling.

And I never said we would have “WON” had Vescovi not had 9 TO’s. I said “it was the difference in the game”...as in it was the most glaring, contributing factor attributed to the loss to go along with the other lesser points I made, that again, I already mentioned in my initial post.

Well, you can’t take his turnovers out of the game without also taking his 18 pts. out.

Yes I can. You act like if another guard had played instead of SV and not had 9 TO’s, they would have scored ZERO points. Sure, I was impressed by SV’s 18pts, shooting and passing ability. But I would have rather had SV have 10-12pts with only 2 TO’s all day every day. It’s all about the ratio...This is not an either or deal. That’s not how it works.

Who has Tennessee had the last month to shoot like that from the outside? Far better chance of the other guard not scoring a point than them scoring 18. If you really believe yourself, you need help.

Then lawyer up and play him. There are no consequences. The NCAA is boning everyone and nobody will stand up other than LSU.

You obviously don’t understand basketball. Assist/turnover ratio is probably THE most important stat for a PG. Period. I already said I was impressed by SV’s shooting and passing abilities

And if you really believe there is a better chance of another guard not scoring ONE SINGLE POINT than SV scoring 18 you are the one that needs help....and needs to take remedial math

Vescovi impressive for 1st game against the athletes he faced .. he will adjust .. I think his aggressiveness we are gonna have to love with 3 or 4 TO' s a game .. defense and speed is where he needs most improvement but the fact is the loss of Uros and Bowden troubles is affecting this team the most .. we have no power inside at all .. and really be same next year .. we need a stud inside to complete this team ..

No one on that bench beside Barnes has come close to scoring 18 pts in a game vs a SEC caliber team. No one.

What? That doesn’t even make any sense? I’ll have what you’re drinking Lol. Ratios are hard, I know. But good day sir.

Barnes comments about him not even being in condition for this level of play. Yes as each week goes by he should get better with turnovers defensive and even finishing better in the paint. Future with he and JJJ Bailey Uros and next year recruits with Faulky and Pons it will be alot of fun.

You make no sense. Who on that bench has scored 18 in a game vs P5 competition. None. Good day

Good day

I’m too stupid to argue with??? Yet apparently you think Barnes is one of our players instead of our coach??? Lmao. As you said, and I quote.... “No one on that bench besides Barnes has scored more than 18pts in a game vs a SEC caliber team.” Good lord man. Not wasting my time arguing with an idiot, and or a drunk idiot.

It should be “beside” Barnes. But you still haven’t said who was going to come close to scoring 18 pts on that bench! You’re using spell check to bail your ass out of a stupid comment. There is no one over there who would have scored 18 or close to it today.

I never said anyone on the bench would score 18 points. I said I would rather have a PG score 10-12 points with only 2 TO’s instead of 9. I would trade that for 18pts and 9 TO’s all day every day. It’s about assist/turnover ratio...and you still have not seemed to figure that out.

Maybe take a hint as to why my posts have actually received likes here and in the postgame thread; and yours have not. Hmmm???

Who is the PG over there who’s going to give you 10-12 pts and 2 TOS vs LSU today? You’ve never mentioned one name who you’d play vs SV.

I’m not praising his assist to turnover ratio. I just said If you sit him and don’t have 9 TOS, you can’t keep his 18 pts. Who on that bench beside Barnes is going to score 18 today? You don’t have anyone. SV gives them a chance to compete. You’re an idiot.
