We had to pile all our NIL bucks after football for basketball players that Rick Barnes could turn from reliable scorers into guys who are afraid to shoot come March. Makes too much sense for TN to pile into programs that can actually make post-season runs but that’s why the past 30 years have been empty trophy cases at UT while LSU has put 3 football trophies and 2 baseball in the care in that same period. Thing are better under White but history has a tendency to weigh down programs.

Not really. While LSU may have offered more, Vitello wasn’t going to guarantee a starting spot with Dollander, Burns, and Beam. Not fair to our guys who had proven it.
