The Official Tennessee vs LSU CWS Game Thread (Tues. 6/20 7PM EST ESPN)

At the end of the day I’m glad I got to watch these boys in Omaha whether it be 2 games or winning it all! As a fan, I’m passionate and upset that an elimination game was when bats turned cold.

These are all young men with bright futures whether it be finishing up a college degree, moving on to professional baseball or out in the corporate workforce.

Thank you to ALL the BaseVols for the year they’ve given us!

I know it’s easy to say in hindsight, but, at the time, I thought Beam could’ve stayed - he had a relatively low pitch count and only a few walks.

I thought we’d see Halvy for more than one batter, but I know he probably Had a very limited pitch count. I had no issue with Camden, but they hit him hard and his stuff was erratic when they didn’t hit him hard - I was very surprised to see him take the mound at Top of the 9th.
Who hit him hard? He induced a teed-up DP to SS and a bouncer back to himself. Thompson roped one foul off of him for strike 2 before the DP grounder. That was it in the 8th.

my thank you to all of you
Thank you
Thank you, NO SIR EEE.

Few people follow through on an inspired idea to do something publicly that supports a community. Fewer still carry on that idea with consistency. But consistency is what allows a community of friends to form around an idea.

I have enjoyed you regulars I've "met" here on the baseball forum. We've shared welcomed laughter and worthwhile tears. This is definitely the best forum to hang out in and enjoy a game.

Have a safe, relaxing, and stimulating summer, y'all! Next season we'll all be older and wiser.

At the time, in the moment, I thought Tony was crazy for pulling Halvy and putting in Sewell. But Sewell did exactly what Tony wanted and induced a DP ball. CMo just mishandled it. If not for that, we get out of that inning unscathed.

LSU has the best NIL arm in the country and there isn’t a close second. They have a GYMNAST who has made multi millions

LSU has bankrolled some quality athletes. However, if we're being honest about today's game, we were done in by Crews, Morgan, and Beloso. No need to mention their pitching... Tommy White was 0-5 and Skenes didn't pitch, so today it wasn't the NIL transfers.

Clearer head now after a 5 mile run to get out my frustration; made easier by listening to the Basilio postgame calls while doing so lol. Tonight sucks not because we lost, but because it’s over.

I took my son to his first game vs. Vandy in Nashville in 2019 when he was 2.5 yrs old and he’s been my ride or die partner in crime ever since. He was mesmerized that day and spent the rest of the weekend talking about it, so much so, that I put in a request the following Monday for season tickets for the next season. We’ve been making the 4 hour drive to Knoxville “every other” Spring weekend ever since and anywhere else we can get to.

I sincerely thank CTV, his staff and the players for the culture and program that they have built because it’s brought me countless memories and experiences that go beyond baseball but have come as a result of baseball. It’s the 8 hour round trips spent in the car to Knoxville just my son and I taking about anything we want to, but mostly the lead up to baseball on the way over and the recap on the way home lol. It’s seeing him get excited about which hotel we’re staying in this weekend, what new restaurant we’re going to try, only for him to order the never let you down, cheeseburger. Getting to know the people who sit around us and catching up with each other the next weekend. Folks I’ve met from VN through passing along tickets when we can’t make it and keeping in touch with them over the years. A 6 yr old tapping me on the arm in the 8th inning of Game 2 in Hattiesburg saying dad, we have to stay now and me making a phone call to my wife on a Sunday night saying, change of plans, we’re staying an extra day and BTW, what size clothes does he wear cause we didn’t pack enough and have to go shopping lol. We’ll probably play back YouTube highlights to get us through the next 8 months and then we’ll make some new memories in 2024 to add to the bank.

Thank you Seniors for helping build a foundation that is rock solid and helping to establish a program that will rightfully and proudly be known as the OmahVols for the foreseeable future.

GBO.

Jay Johnson owns TV thus far. Let’s hope we bounce back. TV won’t stay down. We’re coming.
JJ bought two years worth of FA and inherited Dugas, Crews, Morgan, Thompson, Beloso, Jobert and Floyd, while CTV for the most part has recruited and developed his roster. JJ is the boosters pawn; stay out of the way and don’t **** up what we hand you.

What was the deal with Skenes? How did that unfold?
Skenes met with CTV in Colorado after our seasons for 3.5 hours, was offered an NIL deal by us, enticing enough that CTV thought he had him in the bag. He called CTV a few days later and informed him he was going to LSU and that they had doubled the deal. I’m not sure if it was double our offering or doubled LSU’s initial offering but the decision was made and we moved on.

Nice story. I also think it’s funny that you didn’t just check the label on your sons clothes for his size.

It really is. Frustrating to lose like this, but we knew the offense was going to get us beat at some point.
Yep. For this lineup of bats to reach Omaha was borderline miraculous. Got zero complaints about this season....ZERO. One helluva year IMO and the loss yesterday doesn't dampen that feeling one iota. We need bats, a catcher and yes, pitching. Can never have too much pitching.

A lot of these tweets are very sentimental towards the university, more so than usual. Maybe trying to say something without saying it to the transfer portal guys
