Most satisfied I've felt of the 4 games we've played so far.

Still lots of room for improvement, but the way we played tonight against a solid team was a step in the right direction.

1. Our guard play ( Golden is ok but outside of him, not much to be excited about) Moore is not quick enough to stay with other teams PG on defense
2. FT shooting. Stokes must improve of we will lose 2-3 games because he is going to get fouled, a lot
3. Shooting. Need more consistent shooters from the perimeter

Everyone else (experts) say UMass is a tournament team. People that get paid say they are but you say they aren't. Interesting.

UMass hasn't been to the NCAA tourney since the late 90's. They had a good season last year and made the NIT. I follow basketball just as much or more then you do I just don't pretend to be a know it all and try to pander to the crowd.

Just my opinion based on watching them play today. Maybe I'm wrong maybe I'm right , guess we won't know until March. Who are your "experts that get paid" that say they are?

The "experts" are guessing like everyone else. They aren't getting paid to make predictions. UMass hasn't made the NCAA since 1998. I don't like their chances. They are no better then 5th in the A-10 and that won't get them in but who knows maybe they will. Either way everyone can have an opinion without getting ridiculed for it.

we've had to deal with his whining for a year now. Now that Dooley is gone, he has to find something else to feed his need to complain and whine about every damn thing under the sun.
And he chose the basketball forum. Fantastic

There was a preview of the teams at the tournament and it was expressed that they were a tournament team and expected to do well in the ACC which has some talent this year. I'm not putting you down, I'm just disagreeing based on those that do this for a living. As far a Stokes free throws he made 10 out of 17 after missing early. To say we're going to lose games because of his free throws is a little premature. We didn't lose one game last year based off his lack of free throws. Golden who you also criticized is considered one of the best point guards in the SEC. I don't get the criticism.

Stokes shot 59%, which isn't bad for someone his size. If he hit 2 more he would have been at 70%...he left 7 on the line, but hitting 10 at his size is not bad.

Plus five players in double figures and 51 rebounds. I repeat, 51 rebounds. To criticize this win today against a decent UMass team is ridiculous.

I hope all the people that thought the sky is falling after the lost to OK State is watching them play NC State. I'm not saying we should have lost but OK state is a good team.

Isn't it funny they don't come around when we play good and win? Most are stuck over in the football forum and don't know much about basketball and it's really annoying hearing their opinion.

Exactly. It's one thing to be concerned and question SOME things, but when it's the third game of the season people just need to wait it out. I'm convinced that some fans just can't wait to see a lost so they can have something to complain and groan about. This team is still a 22 plus win team, getting Maymon back is very needed we all acknowledged that but we can we some games we are very scrappy.

Yeah I think he is referring to UMASS that is in the A-10. Which is deep! I don't think they get in the tourney but this W won't look bad against us. They will be competitive all season I think.

OK State is really putting it to NC State. Smart is going to have a big year. Between that and how good we looked against a solid UMASS team, I feel a lot better about how out of sorts we looked.

I think with Maymon, they can definitely Winn 22 games. Without Maymon, it Amy be difficult to get 20.

Depends on when we get him back I think. I think CCM is starting to weed out his main players and in what situations he is going to play each player. Hopefully by the middle- end of next month we have Maymon back in the swing of things. We just need to pick up some quality resume wins.
