The Official Tennessee vs. Vanderbilt Game Thread, 7:00pm ET, ESPNU

It's not elitist. Trying to say Stokes has "rested" the whole year and criticizing him for coach deciding to give him a break is ridiculous.

Yea, because I'm the first person to criticize Stokes... My VERY FIRST post in this thread was about Cuonzo giving him a break saying that Stokes was doing so well that he needed to play more... I don't see how you take that as criticism.

And he had his coming out party when he did.

He's on pace to play about 33 minutes.

You do realize Cuonzo took him out about 1:30 before the TV timeout but there was no stoppage in play till 9:46 to go, right? That's why he was out so long. Geesh.

You criticizing Martin in this situation is dumb also.

1) So let's run him into the ground in the first half? There are 33 more minutes to go.

2) And UT hasn't had any transition, hence he hasn't walked in transition tonight.

3) You obviously haven't played post and crashed the boards every play and had to guard 12-15 ball screens in seven minutes.

Defensive transition... I'm looking at it as a tale of 2 halves... He rested after the first 7 minutes for 3 minutes, half of this half, in order to come in and play the 2nd half of this half... Those halves were polar opposites of each other for Stokes... I'm not criticizing, I'm saying we should have kept him in there until he showed fatigue... I'm not saying drive him into the ground, I'm saying, let him get the most out of this rhythm he was in.

Criticizing for subbing in the middle of a run when things are rolling is fair. Poor time to do it. The rest remark not so much.

Vandy has 23 points...how the hell has Vandy been in transition? And Jarnell gets back pretty well for a post.

And no we shouldn't. CCM took him out with about 13:30 to go for the 12:00 minute. Unfortunately, there was no stoppages in play till 9:46 to go, hence why Jarnell was out.

Martin put him at the scoring table with I believe 11:30 to go...not his fault the game didn't stop. This is kind of ridiculous.

where do you people come from. did you have amnesia during the Bama game

You have his whole career, and point to one game as your example?

I remember the Alabama game fine, and it's the best game he's played all year... All more a part of my point that we should've let him ride out this hot streak.

Maybe fair, but it's wrong. It was the perfect time to give Jarnell rest. He gets 1:30 of break from the game+tv timeout. Unfortunately, the tv timeout didn't come till 9:46 to go.

Trust me its delicious. Grape soda not bad either. But the vanilla spices in the rum mixed with the Orange tastes like an orange dreamsicle.

must have been a long ass shot clock Vandy milked.

Dear God.

guys, chill out. Just being a little sarcastic--- the team is playing poorly this year, losing games to sloppyplay/turnovers/poor foul shooting/low shooting percentages/mental breakdowns and Stokes isnt exactly tearing it up-- double teamed, and CCM is clearly having issues. You guys get so defensive and always have an excuse.... we are just BAD this year. Nothing wrong with it, we will be better next year. BUT we are BAD this year, quit trying to mask the obvious. :good!:

The rest remark was more of a knee-jerk, sarcastic reaction, and I'll retract it, because dude does play hard for us, he just has had some bad breaks...

It just frustrates me, although I know he doesn't have infinite stamina, to see our guy pulled out during the hottest run of his career. I don't think it's any coincidence that our run ended, and the game completely changed when he was rested.

I'll finish this by saying, we'll never know how it would have turned out the other way, and it's in my opinion that he should have played a little more before being rested. I respect everyone else's opinions, and it's your right to them. Don't take me disagreeing with them as personal, we're simply Tennessee fans that finally have the opportunity to argue about our 5-star recruit's time allocation because he's doing so well.

That being said, love all you guys, GBO, have a big second half!!!
