The Official Tennessee vs Vanderbilt Game Thread, 7 PM ET [ESPN 2]

This is actually the best thing that could have happened. We will now clean house and start all over. If Dooley would have won out, there was a chance he would have been invited back to continue the suffering. A new era begins . . . today!

That's idiotic

Losing to Vandy is never a positive....how old are you? SEVEN

I'm 52 and I was at the 1982 game. There is no way to start a program anew when you are clinging on to a false hope the proven unsuccessful coach will somehow change. In 1982, I too thought that UT had hit rock bottom and that losing to Vandy was the ultimate nightmare. Then eventually, we won a national championship with a new regime. Things change. It is best to facilitate change when bad things happen. Losing to Vandy is not good now, but would you want to lose to Vandy for the next 3 years???? This had to happen to seal what is ultimately the fate of Dooley.

Dooley has got to be fired tonight and a interim coach installed. We can not lose to Kentucky...have 8 loses and 0-8 in conference or hart is also gone

I hate to say it but if they don't fire him this week, he will likely be here next year. Somewhere between that $5mil we owe him and the money we owe Fulmer(if money weren't the issue we would could gotten the interest of a big fish coach by now) and the fact that there isn't a big fish on the line right now(If there was, he would be hired by now), I am betting that we are stuck with the guy. FML.:cray:

He even said he was gone basically in his radio show, he spoke of Tennessee in the past tense when he said he loved Tennessee.
