Like I said above, we don't have to run for 40 minutes, but if it's there pick your spots. More head crashed the offensive glass, Martin made a good move by having our guys push off the boards, we caught Morehead with that a few times.

Virginia's big guy is 6'8", Stokes should be able to have a field day, get him touches early and get him going. When Tobey comes into the game take out Maymon and look to push the ball a bit more.

Mitchell handled Stokes pretty well last season.

nobody has ever said to run like Nolan Richardson. Just don't play a halfcourt game. It's not the strength of our players and team. With as deep as we go and the tv timeouts, pushing it up fast on offense should be a primary goal. No need to press a team the entire game, but some traps and various full or 3/4 court defenses would be nice. We have seen what happens to us. Wichita St presses us with a little token 3/4 court pressure with traps in the corner just over midcourt and we never attacked it one time. I don't know if Va does any of that or not, or just runs back and plays sagging man to man with help.

That's why I said get him going early. Stokes got 5 shots last year, he wasn't into the game at all, can't do that again.

I have a feeling UVA will come out with their defense sagging big time and daring us to shoot though. If we start cold it tends to continue, need a good start.

Need to beat them down court early and get them frustrated.
If we let them set the pace we'll struggle.

Wouldn't mind seeing a Richardson type game.
Normally we wouldn't have the depth to push pace all night.
However, being deeper that sh## at guard we could in the 4 guard offense.
In 2 of their losses the opponent pushed it all night.

Virginia plays like Wisconsin--very good team defense, very deliberate on offense. They've been pretty bad offensively but are just the type of team to give UT trouble with their defense and slow pace.

I'll go ahead and make this statement, not that many will care, but whatever. If this is a game in the 40s, I'll be completely done supporting Martin, I'll root for this team, but completely admit there's no hope what so ever for him.

Last year was one of our ugliest games in a loooooong time. Let's see if Martin is stubborn and tried to roll out the same plan, or if he makes a couple adjustments and finds a way to be successful against this UVA team.

Now I'm not saying I expect us to put up 80, but there's no reason to fall in the same trap 2 years in a row.

I expect Tennessee to win this game. It might go to OT, but I think we'll pull it out.

Glad to see this. I would support Martin if it looked like he was trying but he refuses to make adjustments. To me, it's almost like his MO is....If it aint working, stick with it and hopefully it will work sooner or later. Unacceptable IMO.

I could care less what the score is. I just want a win.

That being said, I would bet the over in this game :whistling:
