The Official Tennessee vs. Virginia Game Thread, 7:00pm ET, ESPN2

No, he didn't. I just had a random post because I was excited we won by a lot and we can actually have a night of peace. A night not filled with negative posts about this team, and a night not filled with "please come back, Bruce!"

Enjoy. Would love to see this performance every game from here on out.

Great win for Cuonzo and the guys tonight and it was exciting to watch. I liked our toughness and energy. Let's see if we can string a few together and get this thing back on track.

It was actually tough for me to see that we can play that well. Makes those hours cursing the TV even more painful.

Honestly, though, if we can play like we did tonight, the sky is the limit. UVA isn't a scrub team. We need to bring that pace and attacking mentality every night. I swear, it just lets our talent manifest itself. B-ball is a game of energy and rhythm...so much easier to get hot when you just run and play.

I'll go ahead and make this statement, not that many will care, but whatever. If this is a game in the 40s, I'll be completely done supporting Martin, I'll root for this team, but completely admit there's no hope what so ever for him.

Last year was one of our ugliest games in a loooooong time. Let's see if Martin is stubborn and tried to roll out the same plan, or if he makes a couple adjustments and finds a way to be successful against this UVA team.

Now I'm not saying I expect us to put up 80, but there's no reason to fall in the same trap 2 years in a row.

Well I'm happy lol

This board is hilarious. I sat there in the 2nd row tonight and watched us run the exact same plays we've run all year, get the same open looks we've had all year, and for the most part, play the same defenses we've played all year (albeit a little more zone than usual). Literally the only difference between this game and the XU and WSU losses is that our shots went in...
...and suddenly we have a good team and good coach again.

News flash: CCM did nothing differently in this game than he did in the frustrating losses. The players executed - that's the difference. When the shots go in we win. If the very same shots had gone in at X or WS, we'd have won those too.

LOL.

Wow, how refreshing was that performance?!! It may have taken 12 games, but we just saw what we all thought this team would be tonight...very uplifting! Martin actually was a little more animated tonight. The players had FUN and were smiling...granted that is what happens when you shoot like 80% lol But, still, it was an awesome win and Im proud of them. Hopefully, this is the start of great things to come!:good!:

Soooooo you're meaning to tell me that people overreact to every game? Color me shocked.

Best game they played all season. Richardson couldn't miss. If stokes had a jump hook he would be lethal, but he did a good job from the line. Reese had 9 boards, proving he can contribute even when his shot is not falling. McRae and Barton were both playing well. Really the only thing I took away from watching the game in person is that Maymon literally can't jump at all. During warm ups he shot 20 lay ups and never got an inch off the floor. I think we may be better off with Davis/ Reese in the game as opposed to Maymon.

Vol fans in general kinda suck at games. Neyland hasn't been rocking in years, and I don't just mean the last 5. I mean like since the late 90s.

You should try actually going to a game. Florida last season for gameday and this year for UGA and SC were very, very loud games at Neyland.

Everyone can thank me for the win last night. I was there, and it's the first game I've attended since our wins against Florida, UConn, and Mizz in Cuonzo's first season. Yes, I'm somewhat of a big deal and good luck charm. The players had nothing to do with the win.

You need season tickets

Maymon has always played low to the floor. We would be better with Reese in there.

I like what Reese brings but we would not be better with him getting Maymons minutes.IMO Maymon may have the vertical of an 6 toed midget, but the rest of his game is miles ahead of Reeses right now.

Maymon is running the floor pretty well again. And despite the "bull in a china shop" references that myself and others have used for him, he has brought a level of calm to our team the last couple of games.

We played zone last night?

Like he said, in spurts, yes both venues can get loud. However, for approximately 35 of the 40 minutes in a basketball game the majority of the crowd is sitting and talking amongst themselves.

Go to a venue like Duke, Wichita, Gampell Pavillion....the place is rocking for 40 minutes. That's what he's talking about.
