If you would've told me that Reese would be our 3rd leading scorer, Golden would've played arguably his worst game as a Vol and that Stokes would've had only 6 points then I would've said we would've lost. However, give credit to the defense and the bench. Without either, we lose.

Big ups to Richardson (who was the leading scorer), Lopez (who came on and lead the comeback), Yemi (with 8 boards) and Reese who scored 7 points in his first game and was 2-5 from 3 point land. McRae had a nice game and a huge basket when we had gone cold down the stretch.

Well.. It's a ugly brand of basketball, but they keep winning games.. Golden looks horrible sometimes and Stokes plays soft to be that big..

It's true- a win is a win. If we do that 30 times, I will be ecstatic. The problem is that we can't always win playing like that. But if someone told me that we would win every game 40-38, then I wouldn't care. Anyone who says otherwise isn't a pure basketball fan. But again we just can't always win like that.

Rucker just tweeted that Reese's shoulder wasn't cleared until yesterday. Talk about a shot in the arm for the offense (pun intended).

8-3 is an improvement from 5-6 in 2011 (losing to Austin Peay, COC, Oakland and barely beating ETSU) to start the season!

The bald headed ref, Mike Kitts, was the one who called Pearl for a foul at Candy two years ago when it clearly wasn't a foul. Pearl almost got a T and the bench exploded. Luckily, UT went on to win.

I have seen Kitts in action in more than just UT games. Frankly he needs to retire- getting too old for the game. He blew a key out if bounds play a couple if years back in a Louisville-West Virginia game. Just awful.

Yep, he's just plain awful. The other ref who looked overweight (can't remember his name) made the awful timeout call that gave the ball to Xavier when it should've been a jump ball.

I can see being that bad at a lower level, but the Div IA level deserves better officials.

I like hearing this. I think Reese will help out our offense. Hell, he was 2-5 from 3 point land when everyone else was 1-14.
