Ainge made some mistakes (intentional grounding), D did a fair job but not good enough, our running game just plain sucks. Should have been a "W" for the Vols.
Exactly what the hell was Ainge supposed to do when the middle linebacker was on top of him right after the snap? He got called for intentional grounding. His other option was to take the sack. You know what the difference is between being sacked and being called for intentional grounding? Absolutely nothing! That screwup was on the offensive line!
Were it not for Ainge, we wouldn't have even been in this game.
At least for tonite, I am impressed with Florida. They played a solid game in most aspects. It pains me to say it, but I think they deserved this victory, noting especially the composure kept as they came from behind. I do not think they will go undefeated, but I'm giving them props...they are strong. As for our beloved Volunteers, it is clear the talent is still there, but there are holes to mend. Our D showed moments of greatness and moments of fatal vulnerability. Ainge showed that he is incredibly improved, but in the SEC atmosphere, he is capable not brilliant. Hats off to our team, it was a hard fought game, and I believe we can emerge from the UGA game 5-1. The good news is that I do not yet believe the SEC Eastern title is out of reach yet...!
I can imagine your anguish, but I'm trying to look at this in a way that keeps our fanship more respectable than the average Gator fan...there's more than one way to win...and lose.Loss to Florida = failure. go 1-11 but win that game? I'm happy. Sorry - used to live close to Gainesville for a few years and nothing ruins my year like losing to them. Yes, I am a very sore loser..........
