Amazes me that some fans don’t realize importance of continuity among a baseball team. There are so many intricacies in baseball with base running, fielding and where to go w the ball as the game is situational and more mental than most sports.

That’s one of the reasons I hate the new rules trying to speed up the game, it takes some of that away.

Never thought of it that way. I recall coaching urs ago and was amazed of the difference in travel ball. The coaches forced the players to throw the ball so there were always errors. But it may be realize the level of mental toughness it takes nowadays as the game has changed since I played in the 70’s-80’s.

But he’s never been a good hitter. Put him in (like last year) as a late inning defensive specialist. That’s a great, valuable role. But he doesn’t need to start over Merritt, Tears, or Dreiling.
