Why is there always stuff burning in Marion County? On the way back from Nashville today there was smoke everywhere as soon as we hit the bottom of Monteagle Mtn. I assumed it was a burning house or bad tractor trailer wreck, but down the interstate I saw two rings of fire (spare the Man in Black comments), one on top of a mountain towards the south and another very near the road. Is this a method clearing the land of plantlife, maybe for development? It just seemed like the mountain location could be so remote there's no paved road to get up there and the one by the road was burning around a small group of trees. And the smoke, like I said, it started at the bottom of Monteagle and was relatively thick all the way through Jasper; it was no neighborhood leaf burning fire. This isn't the only time I've seen heavy smoke in Marion. Does anyone have any insight, cause it was kind of eerie.
