Even if they get DQ'd I wouldn't want our girls to recieve the gold. However, I disagree with you, I think the Chinese girls should be DQ'd.
Just a point... this rule is specific to Women's Gymnastics. So it can't be violated in other events...... The host country most likely violated the rules in, not one, but three instances on the ladies gymnastics team alone. Screw em'.
:hi:That's true, Rwemyss. I should have left 'alone' out of it since I know there are other events, such as diving, that have athletes younger than 16 during the calendar year.
:hi:
Your main point remains. If a team wins by cheating, and gets a DQ, the second place team should receive the gold. I don't understand any logic otherwise.
Ted Valentine is praying that doesn't set a precedent. In other news, a Cuban Taekwondo athlete forgot an important rule - Don't kick the referee in the head
I watched the feed with the British announcers. It is some of the funniest stuff I've ever heard. "He just had a brain explosion." "That is totally against the philosophy of Taekwondo."In other news, a Cuban Taekwondo athlete forgot an important rule - Don't kick the referee in the head
actually I made that point, I believe it should just be vacated, the next person in line would probably not feel like the won it? Look at our track guy that got a medal after they went back and reviewed the team that stepped out of bounds. He didn't care the moment was lost.
My two cents.....the ceremonies were all a little homogenized for my taste. Of course the same holds true for most Superbowl half time shows too.
