i seriously was talking earlier...and they should sell a box set of the entire thing. there's too many things that are missed, and dvrs only have so much room. i'd pay $200 for a box set.

As you all probably know, our best Gold hope for boxing, Gary Russell Jr, failed to make his 119lb weight limit.

Pretty disgusting, on the part of USA Boxings trainer, to not realize MONTHS ago that he would not be able to make weight. Gary just turned 20, and hadn't made 119lbs since march, the body mass built during all the training time form then to now, it just makes me sick, how the trainer didn't know long ago that he could not make 119 in even semi healthy fashion.

The Olympics aren't time pro fights, where millions are on the line if you don't make weight, and even then, you never see pros who dehydrate to the tune of 8-10 pounds pass out. I'm thinking Gary went into the fight prep (last 5 days) 10lbs over, which is a heck of alot when you need to make 119, not his fault, he's a healthy kid. The trainers need to be burned for this, as their mishandling of their fighter gave USA Boxing a black eye.

Anyhow, keep an eye on Sadam Ali from Brooklyn, other than worshipping Prince Naseem Hamed, he's a well screwed down kid, who will be a big name by the time he is done in the professional ranks.

I can't see him losing, unless it is to one of the Cubans, who are long time fighters who have grown to full size and strength.

Meh, her best days are behind her appearance-wise. Still good, though.

The polocks had a hot volleyball player, especially compared to the cuban men with long hair on the other side of the net.

On a Volleyball note, i rooted hard for Latvia to beat the US in Beach Volleyball. In all Olympic events, i root for the Americans, and follow the boxers closely as they come up, but man, i root against us in beach volleyball and men's basketball, don't know why, probably the "our stool doesn't stink" mentality.

we all knew that Maria had dropped out of the Olympics with an injury, but now I regret to report that Ana Ivanovic is also dropping out due to a thumb injury that has kept her from practicing since her arrival in Beijing.

I bet some more of these chinamen will end up entering the NBA.

Is Candace Parker on the USA team? They just showed them all in the crowd and i didn't see her.

Argentina is destroying Australia in every aspect of this soccer match except the most important stat. As we approach the 70 minute mark, no one has scored. If there is such a soccer stat as time of possession, Argentina has probably had the ball over 55 minutes.

but Arg needs to figure out how to handle a ball inside 25yds. Their communication is terrible

Are we talking about soccer in here? Good lord.

yeah. I spent the last World Cup and now this Olympics trying to figure out why billions of people follow this sport more religiously than we follow all US sports combined. Evidently it's a big freaking deal. And i'm not sure if this is a good or bad thing, I am starting to get interested in it.
