The Official Zone Severe Weather Thread

tl;dr
Err year, we can use 10 inclement weather "remote learning" days in lieu of snow days. We used one before Christmas and five last week.
We're already remote tomorrow, and I doubt we'll be back to "normal" until at least Wednesday.
High elevation roads in shaded areas and so many unpaved roads make it a little differnt in the hinterland.
City schools here were out on Monday for MLK Day, but they weren't in school all week either.

That sucks.

I will not post photos.
I’ll laugh at this at some point, because it’s funny (it really is), I have to have a moment of breathing. Right now, I just can’t and maybe I’ll post some of it eventually. My girls gave me the night off because we’re filling in for nursing besides keeping us going, my department has been fine because we planned ahead. I’ll be taking in my gear tomorrow morning for what may come. I’ve seen things that I don’t think I’ll ever unsee.

Winter weather on the Southern Piedmont is a seesaw between bitter cold descending from the northwest and mild humid air rising from the Gulf. The latter is here, now. 49 degrees and raining. Temps are forecast to rise into the upper 50s.
