Express or ground? Either way, the weather is backing everything up I am sure. They always post on their site to expect delays when there are bad weather events.

I figured but also wasnt aware Memphis cant clean the roads like in Illinois

Long ago we - Memphis - had a Mayor that said they were not plowing snow because they didn’t want to block driveways.

At least I have that memory, so not sure how accurate.

We used to get out of school if they were predicting snow.

Yeah but the snow melting on the roads will turn to ice when the temp goes into the 20s tonight. A guy in a Ford F150 got stuck in the slight incline in front of my house about an hour ago. Spun his wheels until one of them went flat. Lucky for him my friend across the street heard him and brought out an air pump so he could pump up his tire. He decided to go back home and backed down the hill and got stuck again at the bottom of the hill. My next door neighbor pushed his truck until he got going. 🙄

I saw plenty of that today in east memphis. I turned around and came home. All of the roads with tire tracks looked clear but were actually sheets of ice.

When I was in high school in the late sixties we moved to Ft Sheridan army base outside Chicago. That year there was the most snowfall in the history of Chicago at the time. We went to Highland Park high school which had a history of never cancelling classes because of weather. We went to school every day of that year.

My grandson loves going to school - he is 5 and that wind chill has been brutal the past week and you know kids that age wont keep gloves or a hat on & he has to stay well because he is having surgery next Thursday & it was cancelled once already because he had strep
