I figured it all came down to somethin like a "glottal stop."For generations past in certain regional dialects, a glottal stop substituted for the “T” in pronunciation of some words.
Presently, I do not hear the glottal stop, just the absence of the “T” sound, e.g. “impor’ent” for important.
I bet @508mikey can verify.
